Right then let's get this one going.
Last time we played in November, they were top of the form table whilst we were bottom but it signalled the start of our upturn in fortune.
This time around the form gap between us both is less but they're still doing ok, although their current good form is based much more on their home rather than their away form. They have only won once away from home in the last 7 and lost 5 of those, including at rock bottom club Chorley. Their only recent away win was at Fylde. Amazingly we've not lost at home since Bromley in late November (although a number have been draws since) - which includes 3 of the current top 4 (beating Yeovil and Harrogate and that great comeback against Barrow).
Hopefully we will have Eastmond, John, Beautyman and Ajiboye all available to play again after Tuesday.
The 4 teams below us play each other tomorrow - Aldershot (16th) v Daggers (18th) and Wrexham (19th) v Eastleigh (17th), so the lowest we could be tomorrow would be 17th.
But it's worth remembering that we're 8 points off a play off spot and 6 points above a relegation spot. It's a funny league this year!

I take a lot of encouragement from our Teams performance in the last 3 months, despite injuries etc those replacements have performed brilliantly!
We now need to keep the majority of this current squad of players for next season and maybe extend our talented Manager's contract by extra couple of years....

I am looking forward to this one and am joined today by 4 friends (including 2 Gulls fans). Torquay are known as a footballing side preferring to keep the ball on the ground and talking yesterday to my friend ( a Gulls fan of some 50 years) said that has often worked against them. Anyway COME ON YOU U'S we can do this !

Class today. Bossed it from start to finish and I think tzanev only touched the ball in play a handful of times, such was the dominance of our back four.
Probably the best team performance I've seen this season from us, marginally better than chesterfield down to the fact that torquay and the leagues 3rd top scorer didn't get so much as a sniff.
Must be pleasing for Matt G how it came together today. He seems to have got the team well drilled at home playing a high press, the work rate of Randall and ajiboye in recent home games has been phenomenal, tracking back and defending from the top, which Omar does naturally anyway but gray seems to be getting the best out of his two wingers. Unfortunately I don't think Reid is in the right mould to play that type of game however, so hope Randall can stay fit.
Rowe looked very assured too and an astute signing. We now have three excellent young centre halves who look more than capable.
Referee was abit of a refreshing change, admittedly he let a few things go but was nice to see a referee trying to let the game flow and play advantage. Very consistent although missed one or two chances to play said advantage. Torquay fans probably didn't think so much of him and I felt there was a foul in the build up to our second goal, but who's complaining!

Great win ,great run of form. Who now would bet against us making the play offs ? Forget relegation and the mid table Cup.Let's get in the top 7 !

Thoroughly enjoyable match and did not really expect Torquay to be so poor today. We caused them all sorts of problems for pretty much the entire game and all in all a great team performance. Watching from the stand gave a better perspective of the game in some ways although missed the atmosphere of standing on the terraces.

Well deserved three points today, and arguably we should have won by a bigger margin. I don't think there's much doubt now that we'll be playing at this level again next season. After the disappointment at Halifax it's nice to complete a second double. In the first half both sides conceded a number of free kicks not far outside the area. That's par for the course with us. Perhaps Torquay had witnessed our recent woeful attempts from dead-ball situations and concluded that there was nothing to fear. They were wrong. Rob Milsom's first free kick did indeed sail harmlessly past the far post. His second, from a much more central position, flew past visiting keeper MacDonald and into the top corner. 1-0. His third was also on target but saved by MacDonald. It didn't matter as we scored a second from open play. I'm not sure which of our players won the ball in our half, but whoever it was deserves much credit for then setting Harry on his way. Harry surged forward and found Randall whose shot nutmegged MacDonald. After that we had good chances to make it 3-0, MacDonald thwarting Olaofe, Ajiboye and Beautyman. Never mind. We take the three points and move above Torquay to 14th. Meanwhile, Halifax lost 2-0 at home to Woking.

Wow, what a superb performance and one that once and for all surely puts any thoughts of relegation firmly out of sight for this season . I for one will gladly crack open a bottle of the fizzy stuff , more likely a bottle of beer in truth , at winning the previously mentioned mid table cup . A play off place would be wonderful says my heart but my head says what would happen if we were to get promoted , could our club survive the financial implications ? In truth I think not unfortunately so how about we settle instead to thinking ahead to next season in this league and begin by raiding every piggy bank in Sutton to keep Tzanev here next season ! As for MG , not only a contract extension but a petition for an OBE at the very least . Now I certainly never thought I would be thinking that a few months ago !

A dominant performance today 2-0 flattered Torquay, I don't think we will be promoted or relegated, I am not even sure the season is going to finish. Financial implications maybe a lot closer than next season and in truth - I'll be happy just to be here next season.

This is all very ambiguous, financial implications for who?! I know our lack of progress in the cups hurt us but do we have real money worries?!
