It is with a heavy heart and much sadness that I have to pass on the news that Allan unfortunately passed away last week.
He first watched Sutton United as far back as the 60's and only a spell living 'Down Under', together with being an active footballer himself, kept him away from Gander Green Lane for any length of time.
I had the good fortune to be in Allan's company for most of my Sutton United supporting life. He drove my Dad and I to countless games over the years, too numerous to mention. He was very knowledgeable on the subject of Non League football and always knew exactly who would pose the biggest threat to us on any given afternoon.
Looking back, I was chuffed to bits that he got to see his beloved Leicester City (somehow) win the Premier League. It couldn't have happened to a nicer fella and those of you who knew him would doubtless agree with me too.

So sad to read that Allan has passed away, he was another person that I got to know when I took over Goal Sponsorship from Barry Aplin....Allan would, rather than give a certain amount for each goal, give me a cheque to cover his "donation" for the whole season............Sadly, over the last few years, due to his health declining his visits to Gander Green Lane had become less frequent, but he'd always say hello when he went up the stairs to sit in his favourite seat near the Director's area.
RIP Allan

Belated condolences for the passing of a really top guy. I played football against him (didn't know him at the time) as he was coming to the end of his career and I was just starting (career for me being a rather dubious description) and we used to chat about those Sunday morning days as well as SUFC.
RIP Filbert.
