If the BBC website tonight is anything to go by, the entire 20/21 Season could be played in "reduced capacity" stadiums, which could be further reduced if chanting is proven to heighten Coronavirus transmission ! So, if were limited to a maximum crowd of, say, 1,000 spectators, how on earth would the Club decide who could attend a fixture, season ticket holders only ?? have a ballot each home game if we have more than 1,000 season ticket holders www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53556072

Season tickets are numbered, so easy to establish who the first 1,000 season ticket holders are, if it comes to that.

Nice try Trev, but not exactly fair to all is it, I know I would be a bit "angry" if I held season ticket number 1001, hence me 'suggesting' a ballot might be needed.

Well, a proposed start date of Saturday 3 October is certainly more realistic than the Saturday 5 September date previously mooted. Here's hoping the new date is feasible...

If we're restricted to 1000 home fans for the forthcoming season then I would imagine season ticket sales would be restricted to that number. I don't think it would be practical to sell more tickets than the stadium is permitted to hold, that doesn't sound workable to me, irrespective of the potential legal implications of overselling.

PS. I appreciate it's only a draft document, but the Sports Grounds Safety Authority's (SPGA) published guidance states [at p.25]: "management should not expect to be able to sell more tickets for a standing area than that of the pre-determined socially distanced holding capacity". sgsa.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/SG02-Planning-for-social-distancing-at-sports-grounds.pdfSo on that basis, I would expect that all clubs will only be able to sell tickets up to their socially distanced capacity. I note that several clubs have suspended or otherwise restricted season ticket sales for this very reason. What better reason to renew/purchase a Sutton United season ticket while you still can...

From the financial perspective, it would make sense for the club to allocate a proportion of tickets to those who aren’t season ticket holders. It’s going to be difficult enough to break even for this coming season, so I'd be surprised if they just open up the doors to S/T holders only.

The time between now and the start of the season the same amount of time pretty much betwern now and the 3rd week of April which saw the peak. There's a lot of things than can happen between now and then to affect what matches will look like come October.

I believe you could socially distance lasts seasons average gate without too much problem as our ground lends itself to that if people space out . Where its more problematic is in the stand with supporters too close to each other.
As an aside i'm hoping the supporters club have ordered in a supply of face coverings in Sutton colours.

You can order/ buy tickets online, normally at a discount. It would be interesting to know how many paid on the day last season?

We are still waiting for guidance on what capacity levels will be permitted, never mind any other measures that may need to be in place. We expect it might be a couple of weeks before we have firm details and, even then, it still possible that numbers could change in either direction before October.
