Thanks for heads up on this. Listened to it - and I was very impressed with attitude of Wrexham captain Shaun Pearson.

More from the BBC, this report was on breakfast news this morning. I apologise for the poor sound and our cat’s meowing 😸

I think we’ve just reached the peak of ridiculousness. Aveley have a friendly tomorrow and are saying come and watch the match from the bar. So it’s ok to watch a match INSIDE but not out in the open air. Anyone else think the FA is not fit for purpose? They should be on the side of football, not sucking up to this useless government. 😡

The government are doing all they can to get things back to normal but in a controlled way to begin with. Otherwise the whole country will be back in lockdown.

They’re not getting round the rules, they are showing that the rules are not fit for purpose. Only the incompetent FA would think the same entry rules should apply to Manchester United and Banstead Athletic.

On Saturday 15 August, people were permitted to attend an indoor live music show at The Sound Lounge in Morden (covered by Sky News, natch), yet on the same day, a short bus journey away Sutton United were prohibited from allowing fans to attend an outdoor kickabout between rival supporters. There's no point in looking for rationality, let alone consistency, in the current rules because there isn't any.
