Congratulations to our women's team for a convincing win against higher division opposition at Gander Green Lane this afternoon (6th tier vs. 5th tier). Three quality goals and an impressive level of fitness shown to the final whistle; with that standard we can consider ourselves contenders for the Greater London Women's League title in the 20/21 season...
Another great job on the visuals and commentary from SUFCTV - it's worth mentioning that it was only by chance I found out today's match was being streamed because it was mentioned at the end of yesterday's Supporters' match coverage. As far as I could ascertain, the official website gave no indication that SUFCTV would be covering today's game, but fortunately there was a link to the coverage on SUFC Women's twitter feed.
Glad I caught the match, it was well worth watching.

Yes, it doesn't appear that SUFCTV are covering today's match. Shame.

It's particularly disappointing because I understand that Evie Nebbitt is captaining the women's team today for the first time, being the youngest player in the club's history to captain the side. It was almost a year ago to the day that I predicted "a promising future ahead of her". And so it proves... suttonunited.proboards.com/thread/10164/sutton-united-islington-borough-ladies[Edited because Nebbitt has two t's]

I tried as well. Can’t go to matches, now can’t watch on my phone either!

There's still no indication from either club as to what today's result might have been, although Worthing FC Women's Twitter page does thank us for our hospitality and "a closely contested game". It's intriguing that neither club has notified their fans of the scoreline for a match we were excluded from attending and prohibited from watching a live feed of.

All very strange and a missed opportunity to gain interest I think. Where is teletext and ceefax when you need them?

I'm afraid I'll have to reserve my judgment on the quality of filming and commentary on this occasion Banjo, given that the live stream was private [see above]. However, if you've had the privilege of viewing it and you think it's great, then I'm happy to take your word for it. Last Sunday's coverage was certainly top notch, it's just a shame we weren't granted access to today's coverage, for reasons which remain unclear..

We lost 2-1 yesterday, but Duncan tells me it was another good performance against a team from a higher level.

Thanks for the update davef, always appreciated.
Do you know if next month's games will be covered by SUFCTV? I'm mindful that the women's 20/21 season starts on Sunday 13 September and it would be an excellent opportunity to boost interest in their progress..

It is being looked at but, of course, the team that does this are all volunteers and it's not just a case of turning up for 2 hours on a matchday.

Whilst we have the benefit of your input davef, is there any chance of fans being allowed into the stadium in time for the start of the women's season? I gather that tiers 5-6 of the Women's Football Pyramid (WFP) are now permitted to accommodate socially-distanced spectators in line with the FA's new guidelines for grassroots football..

I can't give you a definitive answer but it is what we are working towards. Duncan and I are liaising over the protocols and endeavouring to ensure that nothing that is put in place can conflict with the mandatory requirements for the men's first team, but easy it isn't !
