I see that Betway have U’s down as 25/1 outright winners of the league with Notts County and Stockport joint 9/2.

I think that it's going to be harder than ever to pick a winner of the National League this season - although I would expect Notts County to be up there again along with possibly Dagenham. With a lot of players likely to be released by league clubs who are trying to keep their costs down, I think that the sides that recruit best from this pool of players (or make good loan signings) are likely to be competitive. Of the new sides, I believe that Weymouth tend to acquire players on loan from Bournemouth and Kings Lynn from Norwich. We look like we could have a competitive side when we are able to get our first team out - but not so confident about the depth of our squad at the moment over a long season. I'm sure that the most important thing for the club at the moment (other than seeking to ensure the well-being of all concerned) is financial survival. I'd strongly tip Havant to win the National League South.

I'll probably be proved wrong, but with Weymouth losing their manager to Southend, I "believe" they'll have a period of adjustment rather than be challenging, the role of First Team Manager hasn't been filled yet ( applications have to be in for it by 5pm today), and no doubt some players will end up at Southend too.

At this moment of time its impossible to predict any winners or losers. Some of these teams may not even start the season ! I always find this sort of thread amusing. Or more a case of the bookies putting odds out when we're 3 weeks away from getting any fixtures and about the same time before friendlies start. If I remember rightly, Barrow were nowhere near favourites last year, and AFC Fylde were pretty much favourites. Funny how things pan out!

It is.I think the bookies start off with all the ex football league teams then work down from there. Sometimes teams coming up have a lot of momentum but not so this season. We have a real chance of being up there with the top clubs if we can match last seasons late form.

The infamous Wealdstone raider. You can’t help thinking that Covid might be stalking him.
