It's not the same as going to a live game but we are able to offer a limited number of spaces to watch next Tuesday's match on a live-stream in the club's bars. www.suttonunited.net/the-next-best-thing-live-streaming/ We need test some of our protocols and levels of robustness in a real-life situation and so are inviting applications to watch the game on live-stream in the club’s bars, which will be open for business of course. In order to maintain the very strict regulations around social distancing, attendees will not be able to enter the ground, including car-park, before 7pm – after all the match participants are safely ensconced in their changing rooms. Similarly, after the game attendees will have the option of leaving as soon as the match ends or not until after all of the participants have left. We only have a limited number of spaces available because, like pubs and restaurants, we have to follow government guidelines on social distancing. There is no charge to attend but places will be limited to season ticket holders aged 18 and over. To apply to watch the game on live-stream in the MBA Lounge or Players’ Bar, please e-mail as soon as possible: dave.farebrother@suttonunited.net , with names of all who wish to attend. To take maximum advantage of the limited capacity available, we would encourage applications from people living in the same household.

Obviously the club has to follow the rules and its not your fault, but i can't make sense of rules that say we can watch a game in an inside, enclosed bar, but not 20 feet away on an open, outdoor terrace! Must be a nightmare trying to work this lot out.

You're not the first to say that! I imagine it's easier to police social distancing etc in a bar than in a big open ground but it does seem strange when all evidence points to the virus spreading more readily indoors than out. Still, rules is rules, and until the stadium is ready and we have permission to let fans in there, we'll have to manage as best we can.

Must be a nightmare trying to work this lot out. I think the clue is in the wording - they're using a game to test the indoor protocols which is more difficult to get right. As the law says that bars and pubs can open subject to being covid safe, and that the ground cannot, it's a great chance to try things out in a controlled environment so that come October we're not testing our systems with a "live" audience!

Hi, We still have some vacancies, especially helpful if we can get groups from the same household.

Hi, we can now offer a Brucie Bonus to those coming to the live streaming, hot food will be available (usual burgers etc). [Don't worry, Bruce will not be the cook !]
There are still a few places available, it would be helpful for planning if you can book today please.

When do you plan to confirm who's got places?

ASAP - anyone who has already booked can assume they are in.
There are still spaces, but capacity is obviously way down to meet the Regs.

What time will the bar be closing? Hi Sarah, things won't be "like they were" for some time to come, from what I know, the bar won't be open at all after the Final whistle has gone, as, "following" the Covid Rules in place, the bars and meeting rooms have to be "vacated" within 5 minutes of that whistle being blown...............Dave F will correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks - I assumed that would be the case but thought best to check as Dave's original post in this thread says supporters will have the option of leaving as soon as the match is over or waiting until all the players etc have left

No, not quite. Attendees will have a choice - leave within 5 minutes of full-time or stay until after all of the players/staff have left (ie the car-park is clear) - however they will be asked to leave as soon as they have showered and changed, they cannot go into the club.
So, nominal closing time will be 11pm but we would close earlier if everyone has already left.
