Huge huge win. 4 pts from those 3 away games back to back in far flung places is a very decent return. Brilliant. Well done all.

Superb performance by the team. They looked very tired at the end but as the commentators said it will be a great coach trip back down south !

But hindsight is after the event isn’t it as that’s what they will say after we’ve done the job on them, at least that’s the way I was thinking. Maybe I lost sight of the thread in my prematch contemplation of victory 🤷🏼♂️ Hindsight/foresight you must admit that my prediction was “outta sight” just like the result. 🥳👏👍

Have to say all credit to Stockport form their live stream. The best picture and camera work (and replays really quickly) , of any stream I’ve seen yet. Only £7 - the cheapest in the league and the most professional commentators who were very fair and measured in their comments and were very complimentary of all the Sutton players but particularly picked out how well Sutton kept their shape throughout and how good Louis John was. Acknowledged How difficult a run of these 3 away games we’ve had and to come away from this with 4 points and only conceding 1 - shows our league position is no fluke. they had also done their research very well and admitted that overall we deserved the win.

Good old stats, here is one if we don't score the odds suggest we will not come away with anything as 0-0 are not that common. If we can score the odds favour us to bring something home, so we need to find the net. Again the odds are after 2 matches without a goal is that we will score As I think you're suggesting here, poorly used statistics are worse than useless. These ones would only make sense if football were a game of pure chance. If you have a particularly strong defense, are playing against a weak attacking side who aren't playing well and you don't score, then your odds of coming away with a 0-0 are pretty high. And since the 2 previous results don't count towards this game and were against different teams, they won't have much bearing on tonight's result other than the fact that we're not scoring a lot of goals at the moment might make us seem LESS likely to score tonight. What I'm really saying is anything can happen You see I was right, and as proved tonight you don't even need a shot to win a match. Good old stats, now to sort COVID by Monday We deserved that 3pts tonight not only for tonight's performance but for the previous 2 as well. 3 huge away trips and we are still 2nd and the top contenders..

Well, that made up for the defeat at Hartlepool. We were gifted an own goal and a man advantage, but still had to recover from the disappointment of Harry's saved penalty and push on against one of the league's strongest teams. Tanto's excellent second goal put the seal on the victory. The heavy pitch may actually have helped us as it hindered County's passing game, but that takes nothing away from a disciplined away performance. That's four points from those three difficult away games, and we're back up to 2nd. Any of us would have taken that before the Torquay game.

Agreed, fantastic commentary team tonight. Obviously pro-County however they were fair, balanced and had obviously done their research. Great win tonight. Looked strong throughout the 90 minutes. And what an assist from Bouzanis for the 2nd.

I was very impressed with the commentary team, who had really done their homework. As for the game itself, more than happy with that. Torquay have just lost to Altrincham meaning we can now mathematically catch them again with games in hand. As I think you're suggesting here, poorly used statistics are worse than useless. These ones would only make sense if football were a game of pure chance. If you have a particularly strong defense, are playing against a weak attacking side who aren't playing well and you don't score, then your odds of coming away with a 0-0 are pretty high. That doesn't mean you were right though, does it? That's like me tossing a coin five times and getting five heads, saying the odds are the next throw will be tails, then saying I was right when the next throw comes up tails. I'd have been wrong even if I was right about the outcome; it was still 50/50. Odds don't work that way.

First of all to concur re the comments about their stream. Excellent commentary and summarising duo. Camera work very good too.
What a brilliant team performance. Ok, we got a slice of fortune with the first goal then their skipper got himself sent off for debating what looked a nailed on penalty but even so. Considering the time the players have spent on a coach over the last 8 days to pull that out on a weather worn pitch against an in-form side is something else. Well done to all and another feather in the Matt Gray hat. Under the circumstances, arguably the club's finest away win in the NL. Certainly up there with Lincoln and Tranmere.
I was trying to remember the last time Sutton won an away midweek league fixture up north but couldn't so I looked it up. The answer is NEVER BEFORE. We did win at Northwich in May 1987 but that was a 3pm ko on a Bank Holiday Monday. The furthest north we had recorded midweek victory was at Forest Green under John Rains (we were winning 2-1 when the lights went out but went back there again and won anyway).

Great stat 👍 Do you mean whilst in the top league of non-league as assume we must (?!) have been further north than FGR in the Isthmian?
