Disappointed to slip out of the Trophy this afternoon - we seem cursed at this round!! I felt we passed up a couple of great opportunities in the first half especially Ajiboye's sitter. Woking's goal was scored in the final seconds of first half injury time - a finely executed overhead kick.
Woking butchered our players (two needing to be subbed including Olaofe after just 2 minutes and I suspect Randall heading to hospital) - their "style" of play is horrendously agricultural, I'm glad I don't have to watch them every week! Maybe our slightly under-par performance can be attributed to a ridiculous away fixture schedule over the last 10 days, I hope we can move on from this disappointment and get back on track on Tuesday night.
Not sure why Sho-Silva's being singled out?! Did you miss his flick-on wins in the first half. Where's the criticism of Beautyman who was utterly anonymous or Ajiboye who constantly gave the ball away in the second half..
Onto Tuesday!

With the temperature forecast to stay below freezing all day on Tuesday, there must be a doubt about whether much football will be played that evening. TBH, our players could do with a break. And we don't now need to worry about another Trophy match (or two) adding to the fixture pile-up.

One player didn't make us lose. Woking were better than us across the park today and deserved their win.
I'll forget about today if we win and get 3 points on Tues.

A pretty flat performance, understandably. Whilst we’ll never know for sure I think if Ajiboye’s straightforward chance goes in we win the game. It didn’t and they scored with a great finish with the last kick of the first half and we couldn’t find the quality/energy to get pull it back.
Whilst Woking definitely started brighter I felt we got more and more control as the first half went on and I couldn’t see them scoring . . . until they did! We looked the greater threat despite having less of the play and being below our best.
2nd half they defended the lead well and we didn’t create enough. Doesn’t help with the injury disruption and not having our best front 2 on the pitch. But the schedule is brutal and we can’t fault the effort. Hopefully we can rebound Tuesday. Don’t think frozen ground is usually a problem for 3G, think they’ll only be a problem if too much snow.

Of course one player didn't make us lose but as we all know that if we don't have a player up front who can hold the ball up and bring others into play then the ball comes straight back at us. Other players were not at their best either understandably after the long travelling schedule but maybe it will do us a favour if snow on the pitch halts the game on Tuesday so the players get a rest. You could see that Woking were determined to hold on once they scored and to be honest they did it comfortably.

Sho-Silva has not been one of my favourites this season, but agree with localboy86 - he was by no means our worst player today. I also agree with the Aleman, our boys really need a rest on Tuesday. Can we temporarily roll up up the 3G and replace it with compacted mud for a few days?

If I could have one sporting wish come true, it would be to see Sutton win the FA Trophy at Wembley. I was there as a tearful 8 year old in 1969 and I still can’t go near Bishops Stortford without shivering. The 2 most disappointing U’s games for me ever were the 0-4 stuffing by Wycombe in 93 after winning the first leg and “that game” at a soaking Kingsmeadow in 99; both semis. Every bone in me wants Sutton to win every game, I had a tenner on Sutton winning this year’s Trophy but.....as 99% sure there won’t be a crowd at the final this year I’m actually not too upset at today’s result. Knowing your team is in a Wembley final and not being able to go....man alive, that would be a hard one to take. To me at our relatively modest level, it’s about glory. Give us that Trophy day in the sun one day please, O gods of that sort of stuff, but not this year. The only bummer today for me is missing out on the next round prize pot.

Thought Woking were the better side today, 2nd half they held us at bay with a little to spare. Maybe its the travelling of late but we lacked any sort of real spark in that 2nd 45mins. Apart from the out rushing keeper to clear a loose ball, he didn't have much else to do. I hope Will Randall is OK, and I see the comments about agricultural, but I didn't think they were over the top.
On to Tuesday, maybe the weather will intervene the lads look like they could with a rest as they looked leggy at the end.

That's pretty much bang on what I was saying earlier! Our last Wembley escapade was the year before I was born so I've never had the opportunity to see us play there and it's always been my greatest ambition for the club. After waiting that long it would be a blow to have it happen when we couldn't be there to see it. I'd still be happy we'd got there of course, I'd rather get there than not no matter what, but if it's only going to happen once in 40 years then I'd prefer to be able to enjoy it properly!
