Don't forget that tonight (1st May), sees United's reserves take on Hayes in the Suburban Football League Challenge Cup Final. The match is being played at Imber Court, the ground of Met Police, and is a 7.30pm kick-off.
Please, please, please come along to support Phil Dunne and the team - it will mean a lot to them.

Lets hope we get a large crowd tonight for what will be a very tough and hopefull;y good game between ourselves and Hayes who along with Basingstoke have done the Surburban league proud this year, with at times some very good games of football, strange bearing in mind that both Hayes and Basingstoke's first teams had really bad seasons, anyway lets hope we get the right resuilt for Phil and jamie,as we just missed out in the league, were beaten by Tooting in the semi-final of the Surrey Cup also,so hop[efully we can end on a high.I am hoping we will be at full strength tonight, with some players recovering from some minor injury's,so come on the lads.

Looks like I'll be stuck at work until late I'm afraid tonight, so won't be able to get down there.
Might not be a bad thing though - I haven't seen the ressies win this season!!
Good luck tonight

Ditto here. Be gone 8 before I get back that way.
Good luck to the lads though. I hope they finish with some silverware.

Me too- didn't get home til 7:45-8ish.
I was passing Tooting & Mitcham's ground around 7:30 and saw that they were at home to Fleet, but for some reason temptation passed me by!

The first half was fairly close, they maybe had more of the attacking play, but we created more. Neither keeper was tested, though Greg Andrews hit the bar with a free-kick, which slow motion replays on the big screen seemed to show the ball had bounced back down over the line. And we missed a couple of free-headers in the box from corners.
We then dominated the second half until they thre everything at us at the end in search of an equaliser. Jason came on for Scott Stevens and his pace confused them. We had a few chances, Zak, Sam Clayton and Nick Drew going close. The goal came from another well taken free-kick by Greg, Richard's header was saved onto the bar and Jason used his height to head the bal home - the centre half didn't even move as he didn't expect Jason to be able to jump for it...
Reasonable game, and a deserved win.
But credit to Hayes, they're a strong side in the Suburban League and certainly played their part in a generally close fought final.

Thanks for all the support,Lyall,Rambo and many others, also a thank you to Gareth and Taz etc for sending there messagers which are appreciated.Lyall comments are pretty spot on,felt overall we deserved it,that was the feeling from most people that I spoke too,Hayes are a pretty strong side,I believe they had a few 1st team players out there tonight although I could not confirm that, but the 9 and 10 looked pretty useful, but we kept a clean sheet which cant be bad.I hope Mr Hazel and the rest of the board enjoyed the game,it certainly was a good advert for Surburban league football.Another season with some silverware so well done to phil and Jamie, and hopefully some more players who have developed and hopefully can progress.Jason when he came on did very well, and I thought Zak looked sharp, but once again the back three looked strong and surprisingly,it was the same back three that won us the Surrey Cup for the youths in 2004,so development is the key.Anyway once again thanks to everyone for there support and hopefully we can look forward to next year with some optamism.

Personally, I thought it was one of the most one sided 1-0's I've seen in a while. U's really should have had scored more than one and as a result were left hanging on a bit at the end.
Andrews' shot that hit the bar bounced well clear of the goal line (the wrong side from a U's point of view). Certainly not a goal.
My third outing to see the ressie's this season and a win at last.
Well done to the lads but more importantly, especially if it was his last game, a huge well done to Phil Dunne. What a record he has at Sutton.
