This Saturday we appear on BT sport so todays quiz is how many times do we think they will mention the 3 G pitch !!! That aside we meet a Wrexham team who have been steadily improving. Ideally we want to avenge that horrible defeat at the Racecourse ground earlier in the season. Not going to be easy but the team are very confident and on a great run of form. Let's hope we can get the 3 points !

So we are 2nd in the form table over the last 6 games. Wrexham sit in 3rd. Yeovil (who we play on Tuesday) are top. These 2 games are going to be a real test for us.
It seems that Wrexham don't travel that well however and their last away game they were done 3-0 by Aldershot. Saying that however that was their only defeat in the last 9 with 4 wins and 4 draws. We've both beaten Wealdstone 4-1 however in the last couple of weeks.
Being a 5.20 kick off of course will give us the knowledge before the start of the game where we could be come 7.15pm. Torquay play Hartlepool, and a draw or defeat for Torquay will give us the opportunity to go top with a win. If Torquay lose by 3 goals or more, then a draw would also put us top. We can only drop to 3rd if Hartlepool win and we lose.
Stockport play Weymouth, but Notts County are not playing. Their match against an improving Aldershot has been postponed due to a positive Covid test for the Hampshire side. Eastleigh host Bromley.

Boring stats time! I agree that these next games will be very tough but when you look at form in as much detail as you'd have to in order to say Yeovil's last 6 are better than ours (when we've both won 5 and lost 1) you have to bear in mind the strength of your opposition. I'd say we've actually been doing better than Yeovil over the last 6 games, although that is absolutely no reason to get complacent. Three of our last six games have been against the same opposition (we both lost to the same side, Hartlepool) and our GD from those three games is better than Yeovil's. Of the other three games each side has played (and won), our opponents are on average 11th in the league whereas Yeovil's are 17th. I mean, they played Barnet who had a player sent off...that will tend to be good for your GD! Football is a funny old game though and so often form is a poor predictor of outcome

Not only is Notts County v Aldershot a Covid postponement tomorrow, but Torquay were due to play the Shots on Tuesday next week, so we might have two bites of the cherry at reaching the top of the table. It’s something Dos enjoyed on several occasions during 2017/18 and Matt deserves the same experience.

Mind you, without pissing on anyone's bonfire, it's more important to be top of the table at the end of May that it is at the start of March. With how things have panned out this season, I'd say Matt deserves to be top of the table at the end of the season. 2017/18 was great, but we did end up something like 12 points adrift of the top by the end of the season. Getting to the top is one thing, but staying up there is another. What fills me with more hope is the fact that we've not been lower than 4th in the table all season!

Love the 3G mention DEL. I’ll say 11 (eleven) times. I am @gillingham v Ipswich (KO 13:00) and will be 🤞 ggl for 16:49. MIXLR - mute the two Adams. SU 5 Wrexham 1

I'm thinking that there may well be a fair few NL neutrals tuning in on Saturday curious to have a look at "the little pub team from Surrey" who are currently upsetting the form book. I hope we put on a good show for them!

The Sutton match preview states “ Donovan Wilson likely to feature after being signed on loan from Bath earlier in the week.” I read he is on a one match ban! Match preview

Match preview That’s what I thought as well. Hopefully his status is clear one way or another, I don’t want the stress of an ineligible player situation again!
