Is the club's 123rd birthday. Hopefully the pioneers of SUFC are looking down with appreciative smiles on the current situation and thinking to themselves, "we started that, what a good idea it was".

Promotion to the 1st Division! I take it that Fylde have taken the 2022 off their shirts? How embarrassing for them.

"Anything in the planning for the 125th anniversary?" Yes, although it won't be as elaborate as the Centenary. Any book is likely to cover 25 years rather re-hash our full history again. And of course now we have Paul's wonderful photographic record to help us.

Until this year whenever March 5th has been a match day I have dropped in to the "Robin Hood" to celebrate the founding of SUFC under the plaque on the wall celebrating that meeting. The upstairs room where it happened is out of bounds. Also to celebrate the fact that such a traditional boozer is still extant. If you are old enough to have been a drinker in the 1970's you may recall when lunchtime pub grub consisted of ham or cheese in crusty round rolls. The "Robin Hood" still serves them. Nothing as modern as matching supply to demand applies, a plateful is made prior to opening and once they are gone - they're gone.
