Looks like the league has mandated a 1230 kick off rather than 3 to avoid a clash with the Royal funeral.

Very unfair on away teams having to travel any distance. If it's imperative to avoid the funeral, a move to a 4 pm kickoff would be a lot fairer and have minimal impact on travel arrangements.

It's the luck of the draw, and as the TV fixture was also due to kick off at 1230, I expect the league thought it was the sensible option. Obviously we're away, but Hartlepool have to travel to Wealdstone. Stockport, Chesterfield and Notts C are all at home. Torquay have the weekend off.

Hartlepool will no doubt be in a nice hotel in London on Friday.

yes, ridiculous decision. lg 1 and 2 havent changed their kick-offs! They have. The EFL are making arrangements with clubs. The FA have also mandated that no games will take place between 215 and 415pm on Saturday

Whilst the timing of the event could have been better, to call it nonsense is rather disrespectful.

If we win tomorrow I would happily KO at 6am on Saturday.
Its inconvenient to have KO moved but I think we should show the family a little respect.

I have zero respect for him His generation including him, put their lives on the line, many making the ultimate sacrifice, so that people like you could make such a comment 70 years on without the fear of severe punishment. But then having read some of your previous posts on here, I am not sure you have the wit to recognise that. Says a lot more about you than it does them.

Personally I think I can resepct other people's respect for an individual or institution while still thinking it a slight nonsense that football kick off times are moved.
If people wished to prioritize watching a televised state funeral over watching a football match, they could. If one felt sufficiently respectful it seems like no great sacrifice. The rest of us could continue, as per. Which, too, does not seem like asking for a great deal.
Btw, if we're not allowing for a contrary opinion to be expressed on this matter then it seems pointless posting a thread about it. This is, after all, a forum. Not a news board. Expression of opinion is a given, is it not?
