Great commentary tonight, especially last 20 mins or so. One more game ticked off. Phew...!!! On to Maidenhead, where (fingers crossed) that can be ticked off too.

We're 3 wins away from being a football league club.

All you can say is we got the job done. We looked nervous to night and it showed, Matt must of got into them at half time as they came out much better and that third goal was crucial. Another great goal by Wilson and also good too see David get a goal. So we are top of the league with three too go, so it does not matter how we play, it’s just the result that does.

We're 3 wins away from being a football league club. Let’s hope that after Sunday it’s only 1 🙏

Maidenhead likely to he without there first choice keeper as well Saturday due to concussion protocols they played with an outfield player in goal as no sub keeper on the bench.

Woking turned out to be more difficult opponents than Weymouth, and Omar's needless handball let them back into the game. Two quality finishes then seemingly put us in control, but fans' nerves could have done without that late second goal from the visitors. Thankfully the BT Sport hoodoo was laid to rest!
So it's back to the top of the table.🙂D&R's not entirely unexpected point at Stockport means that Torquay are now the main threat. But we know it's in our hands. On to Maidenhead, whose keeper went off injured this evening in their 4-0 home defeat to Notts County.

Phew! That was tighter than it should have been. Donovan was given the BT Sport MOTM. I do like his finishing ability. He doesn’t seem to show any fear or nerves. A very astute loan signing by Matt. Barring something catastrophic we are almost certain to now be a home win away from Wembley in the worst case. Dreamland without thinking of the possibility of being champions. I don’t make us favourites yet but hope to change my mind after the weekend. This is quite simply an outstanding effort. Need to have calm heads, whilst continuing to fight and scrap for every point. Discipline has been unbelievable this season, keep that going under the intensity of these last 3. Maidenhead is almost bound to be tight, give them nothing, we are overdue winning a tight one against one of the divisions better teams (he writes hopefully).

Tonight was closer than it needed to be but we took 3 points so results are results and tonight we go top of the National League.
Donovan Wilson what a find by Matt Gray seems to have a knack of finding players that just fit our system of playing Football, does Matt believe in the Moneyball system?
3 cup finals to play and let's get behind the team!
WELL DONE TONIGHT

I certainly don't want to detract in any way from the brilliant job that Matt has done this season - but I suspect that Jason might have been quite influential in bringing Donovan in. Aaron Simpson, Will Randall and Donovan were all playing for Wolves at the same time as Ben Goodliffe - and I'm sure that Jason would have been watching his son play in that team. No doubt that Matt would have been the prime-mover in bringing in Tanto and David A given his Millwall connection.

Maidenhead is almost bound to be tight, give them nothing, we are overdue winning a tight one against one of the divisions better teams (he writes hopefully). Agree with almost all of this apart from the statement that we are not yet favourites. The bookies disagree and so does the logic. If anyone had told us at the start of the season that the title is in our hands with three games to go, one of those against the bottom club in the division and another against a mid table team without their first choice goalkeeper then we would surely have been amazed. Furthermore the second placed team still have to play away at the third placed team.... I have a theory (without having done any statistical analysis whatsoever) that COVID has given us a unique opportunity this year because the ‘big’ clubs have not had their large home crowds to intimidate away teams. Clubs like ourselves have always had a lesser home advantage because we aren’t able to generate the hostile atmosphere that the ex league teams can do - of course we may well be able to provide an exception against Hartlepool but I suggest we have definitely been beneficiaries of having no crowds this season. in any event I think this is a once in a generation opportunity for us to become a league team and we need to seize it with both hands. Of course I attach the normal boring caveats here about ‘taking one game at a time/ focus on our own results etc etc.

I don’t want to be the voice of doom, but if I had to pick one team in this league that I wouldn’t want to play when I needed a result, it would be Maidenhead. In many ways I see them as an equivalent to us. Same quality of ground (until they built the new stand), similar crowds, same sort of budget, even have a railway line running past the ground. Yet we so rarely beat them. They even managed to get the game abandoned when we were on the way to a good result. We’ve beaten the BTSport hoodoo; if we beat the Maidenhead hoodoo on Saturday, I’ll start saving up for my EFL season ticket.

We can end the night 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7 points ahead of Stockport. I know which end of the scale I'd rather see reflected in the league table come 10pm! 6 points it is then! Gawd, that's us having to go through the wringer another 3 (THREE!) times this season! Given the chances we had, we really shouldn't have been sweating over that last minute free kick. The good news is that, for most of the second half, we looked in control of the game, the opponents and ourselves. Harry just looks a little off-key at the moment (converting that chance would surely have done wonders) and it was annoying to see another daft penalty conceded. 5 goals conceded in 2 games, 4 of which were avoidable, is not what we want to see at the business end. BUT if we have to do it the ugly way, if we have to do it the Sutton way, so be it. What a remarkable ride.

Whilst I totally understand your "voice of doom" regarding Maidenhead, I like to think of it as having that hoodoo with Doswell. Certainly pre-Dos we managed to beat Maidenhead, and of course we've already done them at the start of the season, so one has already been broken. I really hope on Sunday you're starting to save those pennies
