So many supporters at this wonderful club knew my dad. Yesterday evening (25th) he passed away at home. He knew they won the National League on Sunday and were going up to League 2. RIP Dad. ππ€π.

Sorry to read that sad news. Condolences to you and your family. Albert was of great help to me when I took over the chief steward role, I never had to worry about the tunnel area with him around.
I am sure he will rest easy knowing of our promotion.
A great servant to the club over so many years.
RIP Albert.

Very sad news about the passing of Albert (Bert). My thoughts are with Jenny, Jo and family at this sad time. Known Bert as a steward and supporter at Sutton United for many years and will be sorely missed RIP Albert (Bert)

So sorry to hear this Jenny. We can't choose when we go, and there's nothing good about leaving, but a few days after hearing news that is unlikely to be topped in your life time is probably as good as it gets. RIP Albert

Jenny, my sincerest condolences to you and your sister and Albert's wider family. As Mark has said, your Dad ruled that tunnel with a rod of iron! I will miss him dearly and going to Sutton won't be the same without his cheery face. So sad. My thoughts are with you. John

Hi Jenny, So sorry to hear about your dad. He was a lovely guy. I remember how kind and welcoming he was when I started stewarding - an absolute gent. Very much thinking of you at this time, RIP Bert

So sorry to hear this news Jenny, like a lot have already posted, I, in my time as a Steward, would always know that the tunnel stairs were "in safe hands", and that no one who wasn't allowed to, got past him. As Mark has already stated, he must have been so pleased that his "beloved Sutton" had made it into the Football League.
RIP Bert
