Next season's squad

Not my intention to start a 'we should keep him but get rid of him' thread because that would (in my view) be inappropriate. However, will be interesting to see the balance between the number of players that Matt seeks to retain and the number of new faces that he looks to bring in.  I suspect that he will seek to retain a large number of this year's squad if he can. For example, if we were to have a squad of 22 players next season, I wouldn't anticipate more than half a dozen new faces. 

It will be particularly interesting to see the impact of obtaining Football League status on recruitment at youth/academy levels as there will now be a potentially direct route into the Football League with Sutton for youngsters that make the grade.

Matt has said in a recent interview that he expects to keep most of this season's squad. I expect we'll hear about departures shortly after the season's end. He'll probably need a bigger squad in League Two so I'd expect more ins than outs.

It probably also depends if some of our squad get offers elsewhere that they would be stupid to turn down. Hopefully if that was the case we could get decent fees.
