I see they are using a Spanish contractor to lift the Underlay...

Hopefully they can use much of the foundation used by the 3G for the grass. Do we know it we are getting a hybrid pitch?

It's sad, as others will I remember the day when Alan Pardew cut the ribbon to open the artificial pitch. A day of innovation and looking to the future. One day the EFL will change its stance on artificial pitches. Anybody else finding this painful to watch?

I'm looking forward to us playing on a nice grass pitch again. Yes it has served us very well but would have had to be replaced anyway in a few years time.

Problem is, we hadn't had a decent grass pitch for years. Let's hope the new one is.

There will be a report on BBC 1 local news about the pitch.

Exciting times at the club. I have attended games since I was 12 in 1988. Must have attended many hundreds of home games in the 90s and 00s, with favourite players being (to name a few) Andy Scott, Gary Thomas, Gwynne Berry, Matt Hanlon, Paul Rogers, Jimmy Dack, Dom Feltham, Nigel Golley, Paul Whitmarsh, Nassim Akrour, Simon Quail, Stuart Massey, Joff Vasittart, Lenny Dennis, Mark Costello..could go on and pn. Anyway, I am not proud to admit that I have barely been down the Lane since the inception of the fake grass. I have been to quite a few away games in this time. I know ithe pitch and its useability has been instrumental in getting the club to where it now stands, but I do welcome the return of proper grass and will now try and attend matches again. This would be the case whether in Surrey League or Premier League.
Ps if we could also bring back the old ‘Allders’ dugouts to lean on that would also be appreciated!..
Pps while Im at it, if all SUFC players could also wear black boots again that would be splendid 😂

No one is working at the ground??? Why can’t they work through the night to get it done quicker.
