So it sounds like just a standard grass pitch? I know there was talk of a hybrid pitch. I supose if we cant have it for community use maybe it does not matter, as long as we have someone to take care of the grass.

So it sounds like just a standard grass pitch? I think you could take AB's words either way. He mentioned the cost of £0.5m which sounds an awful lot for a grass pitch. This seems to be the company mentioned which is doing the work: www.agripower.co.uk/

This seems to be the company mentioned which is doing the work: www.agripower.co.uk/I doubt many would use the word "standard" to describe what we are putting in. Our consultants, and appointed contractor, spent considerable time assessing our requirements - and those that remember the pitches we had pre-3G will understand why. There is nothing short-term about our ambitions on how long we intend to remain a League Club. Our pitch solution provides an expected life comfortably longer than a decade, although like 3G it requires regular maintenance, and is similar to those used by not just EFL2 clubs, but those in the Championship and indeed Premiership too at their training grounds (which are of course used for longer hours than the stadium pitches). As Adrian says there are multiple projects, and only a short window to complete them. We started this work before we were even at the half-way stage of the playing season such was our confidence in Matt and his team. Part of the reason in giving ourselves that time was to ensure we could incorporate our longer term thinking, and future proof work to an extent. Many of the projects allow for compliance with Championship standards as a result.

Great update from AB. Really brings home the breadth of the upgrade to the club that is going on over the summer.

It would be nice to hear whether someone could take on our old turnstiles and that they haven’t just gone as scrap

Thankyou, though my question was in no way intended to be a criticism, just curiousity based on what was suggested a couple of months back. I am not knowledgeable about pitches so with regards to a pitch that is not 3G and not hybrid I just threw "standard" out there 🙂. I'm sure there are various quality grass surfaces, as long as the side can move the ball around as they have, I'm happy 🙂

The introduction of automated turnstiles to enable accurate attendance counts will render some forum posters redundant, sadly.

Thanks for the update, appreciate the communication.
Do we have 3 seasons to put in another 1,000 seats if we retain membership of the EFL? Would that lead to Collingwood Rec plans being revisited?
