The pitch seed goes on a carpet if you follow the post from timall and Google these type of pitches, you learn a bit more ..... so perhaps its already growing somewhere?
I am concerned as we all are that the weather may prevent our first home game taking place at GGL. Probably there is some rule that we cant play it elsewhere and probably get fined if the game has to be cancelled.
The pitch seems to be one area where the club isn't communicating very well if i'm honest, leaving us to worry and speculate which isn't healthy

It’s the fact that we seem to have one day on and three days off which is the worry.
So if the carpet of turf is laid upside down we will be playing grass roots football next season.

Newport's first scheduled home league game of next season, at home to Mansfield on 14.8.21, has been switched to being Mansfield's home game (and vice versa with the scheduled away game between the two sides later in the season), with the agreement of Mansfield and the EFL, to allow for pitch renovation work at Newport to be completed.

If we did that we’d be away FGR ; Cardiff ; Salford ; Hartlepool; Scunthorpe before having a Home game against Oldham on 28th- as good as we might hope we think we are - we’d be near the bottom of the table and lacing confidence - we had such a crippling run of 7 difficult always in 8 during the last season and got away with it - don’t think we would again. Plus that’s another 2 weeks without any income - and we’re getting nothing from our friendlies

I notice the dugouts and perimeter are still 3G - if we start doing well in League 2 the opposition fans ( and managers) will probably claim it gives us an unfair advantage 😂

But why shouldn't we do well in those games? We usually end up having better away form than home.

At least they have planning permission
Sutton United FC also had something to celebrate last night - the council’s Planning Committee approved their plans for a new stand, new floodlights and a grass pitch.
Congratulations to the club!.

Just adds weight to the widely held theory that 3G is safer that all other forms of grass.

Just adds weight to the widely held theory that 3G is safer that all other forms of grass. Nearly all football league grounds have astra turf round the perimeter of the pitch so the amount off games played out ways the injury’s caused by it. It is a money spinner for clubs and should be allowed in league two as Dose has said but too many clubs are stuck in the ice age. No wonder so many clubs are struggling and think just a sugar daddy is the answer, it’s More than that.
