I was thinking how difficult it would be to pick an Xl from our three championship winning teams over the last dozen years:
Goalkeepers: Kevin Scriven, Ross Worner, Dean Bouzanis.
Defenders: Simon Downer, Kevin Amankwaah, John Barden, Darren Ebsworth, Dan Wishart, Rob Milsom, Karim El-Salahi, Sam Page, Jamie Collins, Dean Beckwith, Louis John, Ben Goodliffe.
Midfield: Karl Murray, Kennedy Adjei, Tom Davis, Craig Eastmond, Nicky Bailey, Bedsente Gomis, Tom Bolarinwa, Ross Stearn, Kenny Davis, David Ajiboye, Harry Beautyman, Will Randall.
Forwards: Craig Dundas, Richard Jolly, Andy Forbes, Leroy Griffiths, Dan Fitchett, Omar Bugiel, Isaac Olaofe, Donovan Wilson.
Incidentally, Dundo featured in all three championship winning teams - although only really a regular starter with the first one. Craig Eastmond was a regular in both of the last two championship winning teams.
The task of picking an Xl becomes even harder if you throw other players into the mix who represented Sutton over the last dozen years in teams who went on to reach the play offs or played in the latter stages of the FA Cup. For example:
Goalkeeper - Jason Brown Defender - Charlie Clough Midfield - Dale Binns & Roarie Deacon Forwards - Tommy Wright & Max Biamou.
There are a number of others in addition to the above who might have been included.

It would be difficult, but ultimately the current one is the only Sutton team ever to win a title at this level so surely current players would feature more heavily than those who won the Isthmian title - although a couple might get a look in!

I would tend to agree - although I think that Simon Downer at his best would have a strong shout for inclusion from the Isthmian League winning side - similarly Nicky Bailey from the side that won the National League South.

Assuming this hypothetical side comprises players as they were when they played for us - 10 years on they'd be at a bit of a disadvantage!

When Sachin Tendulkar asked Don Bradman how he would have fared against the fearsome West Indian fast bowlers, The Don said maybe he would have averaged about 70. Tendulkar asked in surprise if Bradman considered them to be so good that they could bring down his average by 30 runs. Bradman replied "I would have been 75 years old when they were playing. I don't fancy myself averaging more than 70 at that age."

Only 2 that I would have contemplated capable of getting in the current team, and maybe Wishart at his best. Deacon/Biamou would be in the mix.

I don't fancy myself averaging more than 70 at that age." This source of this incredible anecdote is Dean Jones and verified by Merv Hughes. The name-dropping is important because it may not be easily digestible. The story is from the Adelaide Oval when Australia played the West Indies in the Frank Worrell Trophy in February 1989. Australia won the toss and batted first. Australia were 383 for eight and West Indies were looking good to wrap up the innings around the 400-run mark. However, Merv Hughes put up unexpected defiance against the likes of Malcolm Marshall, Patrick Patterson, Courtney Walsh and Curtly Ambrose. Coming in at No 10, he scored and unbeaten 72 and added 114 runs for the ninth wicket with Dean Jones (216). The Test ended in a draw. As tradition goes, the batting side (Australia) went into the West Indies dressing room with cartons of beer. Hughes went in first and was followed later by Jones. Suddenly there was silence in the dressing room as the venerable Sir Don Bradman was being ushered into the room by cricket officials from South Australia. Each West Indian player stood up before the great man came near him as a mark of respect. Bradman shook hands with each and every West Indian player and spoke warmly a few words with them. Bradman finally got to the last man on the bench, the dreaded pacer Patrick Patterson. Apparently, Patterson remained seated when the great man came to have a word with him. He looked up at the 80-year-old and after a while, Patterson stood up, towering over the short-statured Bradman, and said: “You Don Bradman? You Don Bradman? I kill you, maan! I bowl at you, I kill you! I split you in two!” As people around heard in stunned silence the words coming out of Patterson’s mouth, Bradman looked Patterson in the eye and cooly replied: “You couldn’t even get Merv Hughes out. You’d have no chance against me, mate!” Copied and pasted from a site called CRICKET COUNTRY.

Out of champion winning squads, there actually not many I'd say from previous titles I'd have in - Bailey, Stearn, Wishart and Worner. In their respective position (which I wouldn't put Wishart as a defender, he was more effective for us as a left midfielder) I'd probably only go for Bailey, even though it's a tough call between him and Kenny (who to me were very similar players). The other 3 would match their 2021 versions (Bouzanis, Ajiboye and Randall) on their best days.

Tough one this as some of our best players IMO didn’t play alongside those of similar standard - one of the great things about this team is that they all performed above a benchmark for virtually the whole season. I would certainly have Tommy Wright in our ‘best’ team and Bailey as well. Deacon, Stearn and Wishart might figure as well for me.
Mind you I would also have McKinnon, Rogers, Akrour, Golley and Dawson but that’s drifting off a bit....

And Wishart seems to be free again.
