What exactly is the format for this competition? Group stages - 8 northern and 8 southern. Each containing 3 EFL1 and 2 clubs, regionally based and then joined by 1 U21 side (again regional). Each team plays each other once, with the U21 team playing away, so the 3 games in each group will be 2 at home and 1 away. 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, but if it is a draw, they go to a penalty shootout where the winners get an additional point. Top 2 progress to the next round. Topping the group means you are seeded, and 2nd place means you are unseeded. Round 2, still regionalised, seeded team plays unseeded team (with those who were in the same group kept apart) in a knockout game. Round 3 another knockout game, still regionalised. Quarter and semi finals are not regionalised, but knockout like rounds 2 and 3. Final at Wembley. That help?

A good tie, a very healthy crowd I would expect.

A good tie, a very healthy crowd I would expect. As long as they stay away from the pizza. Will Sutton be able to cut it, that’s the question?
