Any ideas how much they would go for?

Sutton’s promotion to the football league has created an opportunity for you to own an absolutely unique chunk of our football club’s rich history.
EFL ticketing rules means that our extraordinary battery of vintage, cast iron turnstiles are no longer compliant and will have to be retired from service. The club will be retaining one of the turnstiles for posterity and it will be located in the future in the players’ lounge.
That means we have six units up for grabs.
Although we have a mixture of Ellison’s, Baileys and Norton’s no two turnstiles are the same. Each of them is still operational and with the best part of a hundred years of service under their belts they are truly a tribute to British engineering.
The turnstiles would have been acquired piecemeal by the club second hand, post war, and will have been spinning fans through our gates at Gander Green Lane for the past seventy years. From Leeds in the seventies, Coventry, Arsenal and right up to the promotion game against Hartlepool these beauties have seen it all. It is widely rumoured that the Ellison’s originally came from Wembley.
Each of the units will be cleaned and serviced by West Sutton’s very own turnstile enthusiast Totts, a respected authority on the genre, and one of them could be yours. They make fantastic and unique garden features, are easy to maintain and weatherproof and are perfect for resting your drink while you contemplate Sutton’s incredible history and our future as a football league club for the first time. They would also make make a great centre piece for your own bar.
If you are seriously interested in acquiring one of the turnstiles please contact Totts in the first instance by email on bornatotter@gmail.com. Our objective is to raise as much money as we can from the sale of the turnstiles and every penny will be invested back into our essential ground developments. The lucky owners will have a beautiful and totally unique piece of our history to cherish for ever.
We will be putting up more details of the individual units in the coming days but if you’re interested in this fantastic fundraising opportunity contact Totts to register and stay tuned.
