By a strange coincidence, I was drinking in Gravesend today. Funnily enough, nobody in the Ship & Lobster was talking about this.

I wasn't doubting Mr Miller, just a bit surprised!
What an utterly crap name though.
Amusingly, someone on the Conf National forum posted the dictionary definition of 'Ebbs'. "To fall away or back; decline or recede."
Oh dear....

Now that's a proper non-League name! Superb!

Always a shame when a team feels that they have to change their name.

Ebbsfleet will soon be one of the best known names in the country, as the new Ebbsfleet station opens in a few weeks and will be a major station on the new, faster Channel Tunnel line. In fact, the company I work for is about 5 years into a 25-year scheme to build what amounts to a new city at Ebbsfleet Valley, between Gravesend and Bluewater, regeneration of the worked out Lafarge quarries. We even own Gravesend's ground !!

We even own Gravesend's ground !! If I was a G&N supporter, I would be more concerned that my ground was owned by a property developer rather than the club name changing! Give it a couple of years, it will be called Ebbrock.

I would thank you not to tar all property developers with the same brush ! Land Sec's place as the UK's largest property company for the last 40 years is to a great extent based on its ethical reputation.

G&N is not any where near to Ebbsfleet is it, if you can now call yourself what you want for commercial gain may I suggest we rename to Tesco Rovers. Down with tradition just chase the dosh!

Their current ground is about a mile from Ebbsfleet Station.
