My last trip to Chesham was in 2002. The Bryco Cup match was abandoned at half-time after it was discovered that belongings had been stolen from Sutton’s dressing room and cars vandalised in the car park. That probably put me off going back since!

That probably put me off going back since! Please forgive me, but what is/was the Bryco Cup? Perfectly valid question. I think Bryco was some kind of double-glazing company. For a few seasons around that time they were the sponsors of the Isthmian League Cup. |

That will be the "other" Matt Gray, who played for us at that time. I won't forget at Redbridge in 2005 when he was coming up to take a corner and got manhandled by their turnstile operator as he was taking it. |

I do recall another trip to Chesham - I think it was Chesham, anyway - where someone forgot to close the hold on the players' coach and we had to run after it waving frantically to prevent a trail of kit bags being left in its wake.
Apparently Chesham is where you lose all your stuff.

Just last night I was at a game between Aveley and Redbridge, telling a mate this exact same story and explaining the two Matt Grays issue! |
