Because there is no need. We’re not going to have demand exceeding supply. Yes gareth, that is precisely the point Andy and I are making i.e. there is insufficient justification in not allowing away fans to purchase tickets online. There would be sufficient justification if the away club needed to restrict the allocation of tickets to their fans for some reason, but as you rightly say, that justification simply doesn't exist for us.

Yes I agree that ideally that would be the case. I made the point myself that you would expect there to be an online option! But maybe clubs at this level leave all selling in away clubs hands because of the potential need to prioritise. One less thing to think about by treating all clubs the same. I don’t know the guidance/rules on it but it looks like it may work like this going forward.

Perhaps they have a blanket ticket sales policy for away fans irrespective of the potential numbers travelling?

Well this is all a bit of a pain although I understand and appreciate the reasoning.
I only manage to get to a few away games and the home Hartlepool game has now been rearranged while I'm away.
This means that our first Home game is not until 28th August. It could hinder our start but who knows? All I know is that I won't be able to see them until 28th August. I suppose from the point of view of the League it is only 3 away in a row.

Hopefully this doesn't inconvenience too many who have already made plans. Certainly starting life in the FL with 3 away trips (plus Cardiff in the cup) is far from ideal for club and supporters but the risk was always there. Harrogate coped!
Assuming the govt policy regarding overseas vaccination doesn't change, I'll be lucky enough to be over for what now turns out to be our first home match in the FL which I expect will see a corker of a turnout. Any guesses on what we might achieve? 3-3.5k?

Fiasco maybe a bit strong? Minor inconvenience maybe? I'm sure those people not living near Sutton or are unable to collect tickets in advance at short notice in a 4 hour window of opportunity wholeheartedly agree with you. could just go to the game as planned and pay £1 extra on the day? Might be easier if its such a massive fiasco and difficult to collect tickets in advance.

Fixtures are populated automatically, from Opta data (I think), not by us

Which is why it is also incorrect on the Hartlepool website

Sorry, I was answering this during a board meeting. Don't worry though, Bruce was talking so I didn't miss much Websites on the EFL platform include an element of automatic updating from the central database populated by Opta. I think this includes fixtures, results, goalscorers and line-ups.
