Interesting to note some of the comments on here recently in particular with regards to the pitch and method of ticket sales. One of them seemed ridiculous to me while the others just made without any consideration of the issues or enough knowledge to make a well judged comment in the first place.
The club has given regular updates as to what is going on and why there are delays in certain areas. Anxiety over not having received a physical ST yet can now be relaxed as our home EFL debut has been put back a fortnight.
Why not just let the club get on with it? They know the issues, the processes required to get to where we want to be and why things are done in a certain way.
Have some bloody faith and if, come the 27th August, we still don't appear to be ready then panic (along with the BOD and Management Committee!).

Wouldn’t give us idiots much to talk about off season would it?
On the pitch we put a live webcam up and it was always going to attract speculation given the 14/8 hard(ish) deadline! Maybe someone wouldn’t have wasted a bunch of cash in advance train tickets if doubts hadn’t have been shut down so readily? Who knows.
I don’t think anyone doubts the hard work the club have put in off the pitch and the fact that we will be ready. I have absolute faith in our off field team. But occasionally comments on here are picked up and lead to minor improvements. We are lucky enough to have officers coming on this forum and communicating/reacting. Not everyone is as tight as perhaps you (and others) are in talking directly to those involved in the direct running of the club. Constructive stuff can be listened to, if you think someone is talking nonsense then it can be ignored.

Totally agree I doubt many of us are experts in laying a new pitch, installing new floodlights, putting in improved WiFi to run along side new turnstiles, creating new ST’s, plus the many many other jobs that have to be done to fit in with EFL guidelines. I for one, is pleased that our first home game has been put back. This means that pretty much everything will be ready and we can show the league how professional we really are. It’s been a fantastic job by the Director’s and volunteers to get this far. Keep up the great with work.

I haven't any insider knowledge about progress with the pitch or ground developments but comments about the contractors being on a "go slow" (the appalling "summer" weather) and the ticketing policy of other clubs (totally out of SUFC's control) are hardly going to make minor improvements. As for those who talk nonsense on here - some may include me in that - I expect it begins to grate with those club officers who do frequent this form. And calling out the "nonsense posters" without naming them is hardly a crime. If everyone just commented on the positive observations made how boring would this place be? Not for the first time, I apologise if I have offended anybody with my observations but it seems to me that these days, a comma in the wrong place is offensive to some.

In all honesty, whilst I don't disagree with the sentiment, to me this is lobbing a hand grenade into the forum and seeing what happens after the explosion.
I know I rub a lot of people up the wrong way, but if I find something ridiculous I let that person know. I'm sure you all know I do, because I stand by it. And I also am humble enough to say when I'm wrong.
As an outside observer, in terms of what's been going on behind the scenes, I have no complaints whatsoever about how it's been handled. And before anyone tries to jump down my throat about ticketing, I suggest they read what I posted about that earlier.
If anyone has a specific issue with an individual posting on here and they want to raise it, then may I politely suggest that either they respond on the pubic facing side, send that poster a private message or if you think they have crossed a line, report it to admin.
I've already had one report about this thread as "inappropriate" but maybe it would actually be more constructive to drop the passive aggressive approach and be constructive. The majority of people on here, myself included, really don't have an issue with any of the club's handling of this, and even those that do are probably doing it more out of frustration than any particular malice.

Inappropriate?
Please explain why?
Lobbing hand grenades? Jesus, I will be accused of causing Armageddon, next.
Bollocks.

Well I did say perhaps, I have no idea who is in touch or not with our board etc. The point was this forum is for fans to voice. Yes you can call out nonsense posts if you view them as such, no problem with that and I’ve no issue with you doing it directly or indirectly (anyone commenting should expect different views), but your point on only positive observations being boring could equally apply to those commenting on club matters - on or off the field. No need to apologise to me if you were including me in that! You certainly haven’t offended me and nor could you.

Hi Mark. I completely agree with a lot of what you said. The issues are out of the club's control, they know what they're doing and there's no point fretting about certain things. They have been brilliant in keeping us informed about those things they've been able to.
I think people might just have been a bit wound up by the way you worded some of the first paragraph, that's all. Saying for instance that one comment was ridiculous. I'm not saying I disagree (I couldn't without knowing which comment you refer to!) but I do think your post would have been even better without those bits in the first paragraph. I'm not criticising you as such, I just thought I'd explain why some people weren't happy with it. Perhaps they (rightly or wrongly) felt you were talking down to them or didn't understand their previous comments were just a reflection of the anxiety a lot of us are feeling around the start of the season. And when people are feeling that way it's probably easier to wind them up. Anyway, I thought the rest of your post was spot on.

Thanks Sal.
I did say seemed ridiculous to me. That doesn't mean it is just that I thought it was. If that's inappropriate then I think we may as well just close this forum as it will become a back slapping project where no one can be allowed an alternative view.
By all means disagree with me but inappropriate? And the poster who contacted Admin to say so is welcome to pm me if they feel that strongly.
As for anxiety, I think there are rather a lot more worrying issues going on in the world than the commencement of a new football season but as above maybe that's just me.
These days I am just happy that I wake up in the morning.

Well, you are certainly allowed to disagree with people even if they do make their feelings very much known about that!
There are more pressing issues to worry about, it's true. But humans are complex and we are capable of worrying about more than one thing at once. If it's important to people then they are going to worry about it.
