Hi all Been a couple of years since last posted as am now an exile (and what a few years to have missed!!).
Long story short but I was having a curry last week with a work associate and the conversation somehow got around to the fact that his father-in-law is a Freddie Gray - who he thinks used to live on GGL and played for the Us in the late 40s/early 50s (and there cant be many of that generation still left around!)- pretty random given I was half way through a Chicken Madras in Sherborne, Dorset!!
Sorry, but don't know if Mr Frake still posts/monitors the site, if you do - any info you might have would be gratefully received. If not, if there is anyone else who might have any information in relation to this Freddie Grey and his time with Sutton I'd be really grateful to find out.
Separately, if anyone knows where I can get another copy of United we Stand, I'd be grateful. I bought several as presents and kept one for myself but it doesn't seem to have survived three subsequent house moves. Online searches are not proving fruitful...
All the best Geradon

He does indeed appear from time to time on here.
I will have to check but I can't say I recall a Freddie Gray. The club did run three teams back then though so I will trawl through what I have.
I am sure the club still has Centenary Books although where they are I don't know.

There may be 1 or 2 around but I think we sold out ages ago.

Thanks Mark for taking the time to look into this and sorry it ended up as something of a wild goose chase... I'll go back to my colleague and let them know, be interesting to see whether that elicits any more information.
Thanks again Geradon

I've just found records for the A Team and he's not on there either. It's a fairly short list: John "Hannibal" Smith Templeton "Face" Peck H.M. "Howling Mad" Murdock Bosco Albert "B.A." Baracus
(Apologies to our younger readers)
