This Saturday we make the relatively short journey to Leyton for a close encounter in the League.
Two points separate the teams and as previously mentioned we had some good tussles back in the National League.
Orient have only lost two games all season although they have drawn a lot. A win would probably put us back into the play off places. A weeks rest for the team from league and cup action preceded this.

Really looking forward to this game following a four week disconnection from all things Sutton United due to work commitments that took me away from London. Hard to call this game,a good tussle between two good team with few goals, 2-2 draw but we could nick it in the dying minutes.

Another tough fixture. Not only have they only lost 2 games this season, their defence is virtually bullet proof at home. In their last 6 home games, they've conceded once (in the 1-1 v FGR), but have scored 12 including 5 against Hartlepool and 4 against Oldham. In terms of form, they sit just below us, mostly due to Del's point about them drawing a lot.
Their main threat seems to be someone familiar to us, Aaron Drinan. Much derided by a small section of our fanbase when he was with us, let's hope he isn't the ghost that comes back to haunt us.
Here's a trivia question for the groundhoppers among us. The stand LO put the away fans (East stand) in is the oldest stand in the ground, but they bought that stand 2nd hand in 1955 from another ground which had just closed. Does anyone know where the stadium was that the stand was bought from?

Southend? They moved to Roots Hall in the mid 50s?

Well done Del! As is so often the case, you are spot on.

I was interviewed yesterday by the guys who do the Leyton Orient fans' podcast. My slot is basically a ten-minute preview of tomorrow's match. It's about 1 hour 10 minutes in (easy to find by fast-forwarding through). lodown.buzzsprout.com/1055641/9576612-episode-51-the-marshall-taylor-interviewMy recommended pub is not actually a pub at all but (as mentioned in the pod) the legendary Leyton Orient Supporters' Club Bar. It's part of the stadium, but accessible only from outside (entrance on Oliver Road, opposite side from the away fans' section). £1 to get in, a terrific choice of beers, and a great place to chat to home fans before or after the game.

Gutted I'm missing this one and Tuesday's game. At least I'll be able to watch Tuesday's game on my laptop.

After a promising start this ended up a poor performance. And while I won't blame it all on the reff he was as useless as they get.
I think Deano has generally had a good season so I won't criticise him too much. But this season I feel he has been caught flat footed a few times now. I'm not sure what it is or if it's entirely his fault, but its definitely noticeable. It happened for their third goal and nearly in the first half too.
I thought we huffed and puffed but seemed to be over run everywhere. I think 4-1 is a bit flattering for them but definitely not our beat showing. Credit to LO, not the most exciting team but well drilled and work hard.

I am getting ready for the kicking but must say this - really bad call to leave Coby out with his run of form and against a striker of strenght such as Smith. Also the worse game for Bennet so far, lost every ball he touched and when taken out he was caught in a heavy words exchange with Milson - first time I see this in our team in the last two seasons .

Yeah never good to see.. But I'm not sure it's other players place to make these calls. Bennet has been decent since he has come and to be fair he was not the only one to have a bad game. Our midfield was pretty much absent today and he was dropping deep and trying to hold the ball up which was not really his job.

If you’d attended the Q&A on Thursday then you’d have heard that Rowe was out with a foot injury. He wasn’t left out.

Smith has been dominating in our area so they sort of beat us at our own game…

I thought up until we scored we had them on the rack and we were going to go on a win comfortably, shows ho much I know.
I can't single any one player our from that 2nd half display, we know if you are not at in this league you will get beaten. Their 2 front men didn't give us a minutes peace in the 2nd 45, and I am afraid unlike Sutton our team were spotted on the bus at half time heading for sunny Spain. U's don't concede 4 if they are on the pitch.

A loss today is not a disaster but let’s mix it up a bit on Tuesday. Wilson and Bugiel through the middle and Tanto on the left.
