Two observations. The second Orient goal should not have stood. The push in Lewis John's back had exactly the effect the perpetrator expected. Dean collides with the pushed CB while coming down and drops the ball. The first Orient goal shows why defenders should position themselves differently for a long throw than for a free kick. Because off-side applies at free kicks the defence holds a high line and all players then run in towards goal. No offside at a throw-in so standing nearer the goal does not allow attackers to move nearer - they can anyway. Therefore at a long throw defenders should be nearer their goal line than where the throw will land. An attacker running in to meet the headed flick-on then meets a defender running directly at him.
