On paper this should be a strong candidate for us to pick up all three points. However, the weather conditions tomorrow (very windy) might play a part.

No room for complaceny of course, but Barrow come to us in 20th place and in poor form, having not won any of their last eight league games - though they have drawn away twice during that spell. They did win 4-0 at Banbury in the FA Cup three weeks ago, but haven't scored in any of their last three matches. Their leading scorer is Ollie Banks with eight goals.
Most of the clubs above us are at home tomorrow, but a Sutton win combined with Harrogate failing to win at Swindon would take us up to at least 6th. A very favourable (but unlikely!) combination of results would see us in the top three.

Another great opportunity to consolidate our position in the play offs. What a fantastic season we are having so far !

No doubt about it, we were fortunate to come away with all three points. In the first half we gifted their No.11 with time and space time and time again, and they had a great time exploiting our porous right-hand side. Their No.10 had two guilt-edged chances and should have taken both. Although we bossed the early period of the second-half we created little in the way of clear-cut chances, and wasted a couple of golden opportunities to put men through one-on-one. We almost paid for that in a frantic final 15-minutes when they pummelled us with breaks and corners. We just could not retain possession and take the sting out of their game. Their fans travel home wondering how they leave empty-handed. We walk out of the ground, breathing a sigh of relief.

Sounds like we toughed out 3 points and that I got lucky with the game I had to miss!! Nice that Dean played a big hand. Up there in the clean sheets table now, we’ll need a few more to stay in the upper reaches.
We’re in a really strong position now after back to back home wins. One of our biggest challenges will be keeping players (January) and manager for the season.

Another good result and clean sheet. yes we had too dig in and see the game out, that shows a good team when not playing well can see the game out. As for Matt, for him too move on would have too be a really good job because he is building something here long term and there’s no guarantee moving on would work out. This is a club going places, so good times head.⚽️

Just to allay any suspension fears, today was our 19th league game, which is the last point at which five bookings incur a one match ban - it's fewer than in the National League, where it's 23 games. The next cut off is 37 games, and anyone getting to ten cautions on or before that game will be banned for two games.

Well I wrote it so it’s my opinion. If you think differently say so.
I have no doubt that if little old Sutton keep winning games at this level, having already got a NL championship under the belt, a bigger club will come knocking for Matt. As for the players there will be 3 or 4 absolutely who will be hard to keep hold of.

Thank you for clarification. I was aware that the cut off point for 5 yellow cards was 'match week 19' - but it wasn't clear to me whether this meant 19 EFL matches played by the club, 19 EFL matches played by the player or the 19th week of the season in which EFL matches have been played. By my reckoning, Omar, Dean and Ben are all on 4 league bookings as of today - and any suspensions combined with the injuries we currently have would have severely stretched our resources at this very busy time of the season. While it is maybe understandable given their roles that some players may pick up suspensions this season on the basis of yellow cards accumulated, I really don't think that Dean should be finding himself in that situation. On the subject of 'injured players', it was quite alarming to hear in Matt's post-match interview why Enzio has been unavailable for a period of time - but very good news to hear that he has now received the all clear. I hope that some of the injured players might be available in time for the FA Cup game at Bristol.

As for the players there will be 3 or 4 absolutely who will be hard to keep hold of. Very true, and realistically this will probably happen at some stage. From that point we will have to hope we have enough infrastructure to bring in more talent. We discovered Matt as a manager and gave Doswel a platform. So clearly someone is making good decisions. We will have to compete as we have been.

As for the players there will be 3 or 4 absolutely who will be hard to keep hold of. I respectfully disagree. In terms of players I think there are a maximum of 2 players who would be looked at. One probably isn't ready to move up a level and another one who certainly is but for more than one reason I doubt will move unless a significant offer is made, both financially and status wise for that player. As for Matt, I expect you didn't know that he has no intention of leaving Sutton and made that clear. He also is smart enough to know that 20 games as a league manager isn't anywhere enough to set him up to be successful in a bigger job and is modest enough to admit it. A much bigger challenge for us is keeping the squad fit and coping with injuries. We've lost one key player for months. If we lost another it could have a bigger impact.
