Ground out. Mentally tough group. Keep clean sheets. Take the points. I think you have to give the management and players a huge amount of credit after the injuries and the travelling they have got through in recent weeks. Brilliant brilliant stuff and we’re in a good place for the 2nd half of the season. I fully expected us to do very well once we kept the squad together but it’s still slightly surreal to sit 3rd.

I cannot agree with you more. Looking good for the second half of the season. Let's hope we can have less injuries and continue getting the results.

A touch of hoof-ball from both sides, that possibly did neither side any favours. But a great, hard fought, result.
Totally agree with nonsuch about the quality of our defensive organisation. Whichever of our defenders play, we look pleasingly calm and solid at the back.

I thought their midfield ran the show today. Great pace with skill. Turned defence into attack in a blink of an eye. Just like David A on his day. Great win after a tough last 10 days or so.

Sorry to bring up the subject of the January Transfer window. What is the feeling of the forum regarding possible players being approached?

It’s definitely a topic that deserves its own thread. But as you launched it I will give my opinion: We desperately need another CB. The three we have are great but, as proved so far, not enough Second position to be considered is of course central midfielder. I know Harry is coming back and I mean no criticism to anyone but I would like to see a creative midfielder... One that can run with the ball and hold on to it, give a great through pass, score from outside the area etc.Yeah I know how hard is to get that - probably as hard as finding a top striker. But this season has definetely raised our club profile and also maybe Matt still has more cards up his sleeve as were Wilson or Smith before...

Or were we well below par? I don't think we were. For long periods of the game I thought it was 2 decent teams cancelling each other out. Hard earned win. I think that is a fair shout, Harrogate are a good side, we restricted them to very little in front of goal and took one of our 3 or 4 chances. I am not sure you can call that under par?

Well that was a good tonic for the supporters before Christmas a 1-0 over a hard working Harrogate Team. I thought we just defended in numbers and had our goalkeeper to thank again for coming up with big saves when needed. This season is unbelievable and long may it continue. On another positive note from today our goalkeeper when collecting the ball for a goal kick, fist pumped my nephew, both wearing gloves and my nephew asked him to keep a clean sheet and even in the intensity of the game Dean had the pleasure say he would try and do his best! Sutton United should be proud that players love to see our support. Merry Christmas to you all.

In addition a couple of player shoutouts.
Donny - so pleased he scored today. He's had a torrid time over the last few months and really looked low on confidence, so his goal in that context is even sweeter.
Jon Barden. Utterly superb at Bradford and carried that right on today. Full backs often don't get huge credit, but Jon is fully deserving any plaudits coming his way in recent weeks.

That was a hard fought game that puts us up to 3rd place in the division. Now we need to close the gap with Forest Green Rovers in the second half of the season!

I knew this was going to be hard as they are the second best away side in the league. I am not sure they deserved to win but they pushed us hard and if they git a point it would not hsve been too unfair. That said I thought we defended well. Squad being stretched at the moment and would be nice to get some players back..
