This is a surprise. Must have been a very hard few years for all the board and all the effort they have put in to make us where we are today.
Thankyou very much Dave for everything you have done for this club and continue to do so in whatever capacity.
It has certainly been appreciated by myself & all of the supporters.

Well done Dave on your remarkable service to Sutton United.
And credit to you for all the hard work over the years - it’s an unenviable task.
Arrivederci

There is a learning curve in any job and it is longer with the complexity of the position. So, no matter who will step in to replace him, this is, at the moment, not positive news.

This is a shock. As said by previous threads. Thank you Dave for all your hard work over the past years you have served on the board. It's people like you that make this club so great to follow. I wish you well for the future.

To my mind, the likes of Dave, Bruce and Adrian are as worthy of the status of 'club legend' as Dos and Matt - perhaps even moreso. I think that Dave has been supporting Sutton for a similar length of time as I. I'm sure that he can remember the days when a trip to Hitchin or St Albans would be viewed as an epic away trip for a league fixture - no trips in league fixtures to Barrow or Carlisle in those days. Like many others, I would like to thank Dave for all that he has done for Sutton United over so many years - much of it unseen. I have supported Sutton United for so many years because people like Dave Farebrother made it the great club that it is.

Dave was awesome before he was the chair of the board.
He is awesome being chair of the board.
He will continue to be awesome after he steps down.
Thank you for your 10 years of leadership Dave.

It is hard to imagine how much the commitment, time and stress must have increased for Dave over this last couple of years. Suffice to say the position the club is in as he completes his tenure is in great part due to the dedication of Dave and the other volunteers who have so freely given their time and energy to the club.
Thank you for your service and long may you continue to enjoy following the unfolding story of this special football club.

What is it about this club that produces such dedicated individuals? I'd like to see the job description for Dave's role, it must be on its second volume at least. Thanks Dave for helping seeing us through the turbulent last year and all the previous years. A magnificent achievement. Should you get any free time (at this club?!) how about bringing back the Supporters' Club theatre trips?

Dave is one of those wonderful people who keep the heart of Sutton United beating.
Even after stepping down, I'm absolutely sure he will continue to do that. A really important and treasured part of the Sutton United family and coming from me there is no greater compliment than that!
Dave, I don't think a simple thank you is enough to do justice to the immense service you have put in to our club over the years. It would be difficult for an outsider to see just how much hard work you've been putting in especially over the last couple of years. Without people like you there's no way we would have achieved all that we have in that time.
But what else can we say - thank you, Mr F.
