Havant are going through a lean patch (as we did in 2015) but none of us treated Dos in the way these Havant fans did today.
Why do I get the feeling there could be a parting of the ways soon?

As stated earlier in the 'News of the ex-Us' thread, Havant had just lost 3-1 at Oxford after having been 1-0 up with about 5 minutes to go - so I imagine that emotions were running high on all sides. When Dos left Sutton he stated that his primary reasons for doing so were for family and health reasons and because he was tired of driving the long distance to and from his home to Sutton after 10 years of doing so - and very shortly after doing so, he took the opportunity to manage a club nearer home. I suspect that he may have also thought that he had taken Sutton as far as they could go - and in fairness, I don't think that even the most optimistic of us could ever have imagined that Sutton would be where they are today. When he first became manager of Havant, I suspect that he had a reasonable expectation that Havant and Sutton might soon be competitors in the National League Premier Division. However, for various reasons, things have not gone as well for Havant as might have been anticipated - and no need to tell any regular user of this board about how well things have gone for us. While I'm sure that Dos has given 110% to Havant, I suspect that his heart may still be with Sutton (and Southampton of course). He was clearly thrilled about our promotion to the EFL last season. Dos obviously loves football and it has been a big part of his life, all his life. But he also has a family and business interests - and I tend to agree with Andy - maybe he might have reached a point in his life when he won't want to continue to keep putting his heart and soul into managing a mid-table National League South team only to be abused by a section of its supporters. Whatever does or doesn't happen at Havant, it won't damage in any way his reputation and legacy with Sutton United. He played a significant part in laying the foundations for everything that this club has become (Matt himself has acknowledged that). He (almost literally) build the standing enclosure at the away end at Gander Green Lane - and I have long thought that it should have been named after him in recognition for all that he did for our club. If there is a parting of the ways between Dos and Havant, I'd personally like to see Tommy Wright given an opportunity to resurrect his Sutton United career - if that was something that Matt, the board and Tommy of course, would all feel comfortable about and want.

When I say parting of the ways, I do mean Dod walking away rather than being given the push. He doesn't need or deserve that sh*t.
As for Tommy. Whilst we loved him here, we're not in a position to be charitable in terms of budget or squad numbers. If he can offer something more than Tanto and Wilson can there perhaps.

I agree with you Andy K.Regards T W. I thought when he left one of the reasons was the amount of travelling he was doing.

As a Sutton supporter blow in from 2013 I was lucky to experience a good part of the Doswell era. He is akin to Shankley for Sutton. I saw the footage, Dos may step aside, he doesn't need the stress but if he stays I hope H&W have a resurgence. Either way I wish Dos the very best what ever he chooses.

I agree with you Andy K.Regards T W. I thought when he left one of the reasons was the amount of travelling he was doing. He struggled with his mental health of which travelling up and down on his own played its part. I hoped we see him progress to league football at some stage but more importantly than that he needs to stay healthy. He seems to be doing well and we watch with interest, currently from afar.

Yes I quite agree with you . As I said earlier that was one of his reasons. I knew he had other problems. Like you I hope he keeps going on as it seems he is.

I saw Doses interview and he said he would be speaking too Birdie over the weekend,. Duse he need the stress and hassle because he has nothing too prove as a manager and also the haven’t fans need too understand or should know they are a small club funded by there chairman for the love off it.

No disrespect to Terry B who has overseen some good sighnings for us this season. But it's a shame the position was not there for Dos as he was good at getting in good players and perhaps that role would have suited his position with us more.
That said, HW are not exactly down and out and could still make the play offs. If they have had allot of injuries then it is what it is.

You could easily argue that Matt Gs recruitment has been miles better that Dos. How many duffers has he signed in nearly 3 years?

But as I see it the DOF relationship is quite ballanced and we are still seeing players very much with Greys aproval. That said, it depends what we mean when we say duffers. There have certainly been a few of Matts signings that have apeared to not cut the grade. Callum Kealy, Daniel Matsuzak, and a few others who have slowly disapeared or not made the first team. The players he signed this season also came with the lure of league 2 footie. Eastmond, Beautyman, John, Barden, Davis, are all originally Dos signings and important players several years later and at a higher level.

Sorry but considering Dos's main reason for leaving Sutton was the travelling, I couldn't see him doing what Terry B does ie scouting for talent. That's a lot of travelling. It is also a bit harsh on Terry who has a wealth of EFL experience as a player and coach.
I have great affection for Dos for what he did at Sutton and the foundations he put down in terms of on the pitch as well as off. His approachability too. But this is Matt Gray's team, his squad, his players, his coaching and his recruitment. No manager gets it all right but last season and so far this suggests Matt ain't far off perfection.

As for his confrontation yesterday, he did similar at Tonbridge years ago after a draw had brought some criticism. The difference was that the Sutton fans listened rather than gobbed off as the H&W lot seemed too yesterday.
Of course, the dynamic is vastly different at H&W than it was at Sutton. He didn't get paid by Sutton and as we know helped fund a lot of the stuff we see now. At H&W he is (I believe) paid. That's a different pressure for him. However, I think the H&W fans should remember that Dos's worst season at GGL was followed by a NLS title winning campaign. He might do that again, if he is still there...
Too replicate his ten years at GGL is impossible and H&W probably need to come to terms with that.

Think Dose said when he went there that he would not be putting any money in pluses he takes a wage. It all depends if he wants the hassle any more.
