We used to have a saying when things where not going so well 'In Dos we Trust' it served us well. I am amazed at how fickle and uneducated some other teams supporters are, I saw it from the Colchester fans as well on their video.
It was Dos who bought Matt to the club and recommended him as his replacement. I can't remember Dos's exact words but he told me that with Matt the club was in good hands, and he wasn't wrong.
Dos loves his football, he wears his heart on his sleeve, the difference between Sutton and Havant is when we had a bad run or lost to teams like Alton and Burgess Hill we used to know it hurt him as much as us. I know there are times when Dos may have walked away from Sutton if it had not been for the belief we showed in him.

It never ceases to amaze me looking on the opponents forums the amount of abuse the managers chairman and players get from the fans especially after they have lost to the hoof ball pub team from Surrey. The fundamental flaw with football and fans is the instant gratification that is demanded - there are few clubs where fans stick with it through thick and thin…..and even fewer boards that stick with managers. Sutton is like a marriage that celebrates a golden anniversary- there will have been some bad times which makes the good even sweeter and we love our club come what may.

We are far from perfect, I seem to remember some harsh words on this forum directed at Dos. In fact he did reply before later removing the comments.

I seem to remember that quite a lot of people were calling for Matt's head not so long ago. I was never one of them.
Where are they now, I wonder?

Still following the club home and away I would imagine. Let me say Carlisle was good, Hartlepool should be fun. Is that ok for you? I was one of them. I even spoke to Matt about it and said I was wrong and apologised and that was long before the promotion. He was gracious enough (maybe tongue in cheek) to acknowledge it wasn’t a great run of results at the time.

Another bad day for Dos as Havant lost 0-1 at home to St Albans yesterday. With their next two league games being against Dartford and Ebbsfleet, things aren't necessarily going to become any easier. No suggestion that Dos is going to walk away though. He has brought in three new signings this week (including Stefan Payne as mentioned in another thread). One of the outgoing casualties is Nicky Bailey who was on a month to month rolling contract. In a post-match interview, Dos stated that he was committed to helping Havant obtain a place in the National League, this season or next. In spite of some very poor results since Xmas, they are still only about 6 points off a play off place with a game in hand.

Another bad night for Dos, Ross Worner, Jamie Collins, Stefan Payne and Tommy Wright as Havant's nightmare run of form continues and they lose 1-0 at home to Dartford (for whom former Sutton player Jack Jebb featured).
