We need a couple of people please who would be willing to help out on Saturday as turnstile operators (1:30 to 3:00). If you can help, please email me dave.farebrother@suttonunited.net

I do hope you get the help you need but this really is a short turnaround time.

I do hope you get the help you need but this really is a short turnaround time. To be fair the Club has been asking for volunteers to assist since before the start of the season, but fair point we could have asked a little sooner on this occasion. It's not so easy as we don't control when people "drop out". Maybe to balance the scales a little can we also ask for volunteers for the Salford game on 8th February and the Bradford match on April 30th (and the 7 games in between). Feel free to do so as far in advance of kick off as you can, or the last minute too. We can always find something for anyone to do. Apologies if that comes over as sarcastic as that isn't the intention. As a result of our growth in support, and success on the pitch, we really do need (more) volunteers - and are grateful to all of them, either regular or occasional. The alternative is recruiting, and paying people - which is maybe the long term solution. But with that comes increased cost, and spectators then interacting with people who know the Club, and stadium much less too.

A few volunteers we had lined up for this week have had to drop out because of Covid
We already have one offer of help. Which is greatly appreciated

I noticed at Forest Green they had automated turnstiles without needing an operator for each one. I was wondering if that was a consideration at any time.

We looked at that option last summer, but naturally it came with cost implications. We also considered that if an automatic system breaks down then that turnstile can't be used, whereas the current approach is more robust.

No malice intended in the reply. I am also sidelined with Covid and will miss the game tomorrow.
I purposely volunteered to take a role where I do not miss any of the match and this may be the problem in seeking volunteers for the turnstiles.
Even so I cannot guarantee a good viewing spot at kick off unless someone is saving one for me.
