For the second home game in succession our stewards have been praised by away supporters for their friendly manner. We have all been to away games where stewarding has made or broken our match experience, so to hear comments like this is very gratifying:
From a thread named 'Sutton stewards'
Thought it worth mentioning how good they were yesterday IMO. Bunch of friendly young lads who joined in the banter and even our singing towards the end! Clapped us on the way out. What a change from the many jobsworths we have all met over the years!

Yes - the aforementioned Rovers fans I was arguing with on the train had great praise for them.

Out of interest is there any feedback on the "home" stewards?

Out of interest is there any feedback on the "home" stewards? Don't have much contact with them really but will say this. The two that man the stand are pleasant enough and know us as regulars so wave us through. When Ron used to steward the stand we got to know him well and still see him in the Grandstand sometimes. The lady who sadly passed away a couple of years ago (sorry her name eludes me at present) was always a joy to have a chat with. So from my limited contact with "home" stewards - keep up your important and valued work and I for one appreciate all your hard work.

Hi, that would have been Barbara, who, as you said, passed away in December 2017 ( not long after the away game at Leyton Orient )

I think what Tim was asking about, was getting feedback on ALL Stewards at the Home End ( ie from the moment you arrive at the ground, go through the turnstiles, and get to where you watch the match from ), not just the team of "In House" volunteers, does anyone have comments to make ?

Regarding the 'Home stewards ' Most are very good but I must say there are one or two who just stand and do very little. Can I point out that Paul who is the guy stewarding the stand not only does he do that job but goes to the ground during the week and does a lot of the upkeep jobs around the ground. It's people like him that keeps this great club going on. Also thanks to all the other volunteers for their hard work and commitment.

Standing and doing very little is what a steward should be doing unless trouble is brewing. I was less impressed with the away end steward against Colchester, who was watching the celebrations on the field while some dickhead tossed pyro on the pitch.

I quite agree with you about the idiot who tossed those flares.

Further to the flare incident. Was the club penalised?

As a Salford City supporter at the game I have to commend all the stewards in our end who were friendly, engaging and who joined in the humorous banter. Have to also say that I was impressed with your clubhouse which was spacious, comfortable and welcoming and it was good to have a chat with a number of your supporters before the game. Good vibes all round!

Really good to see comments like this. We may be a tinpot pub team from Surrey but we do have hearts of gold which makes us special.
