Was there a drum being played today on the Collingwood terracing . I thought they are banned in the ground? It's there every game for past 7-8 games. I think stewards got sick of telling them not to use the bin and a compromise was made haha. Tbh, I personally have no issues with it and I'm normally stood next to it. We are a quiet crowd and anything that helps with getting songs and chants going can't be that bad. I do wish certain sections would stick to the songs and the humerous chants though. Random people screaming out the C Bomb at away fans, and the flash mobbing at the divider at equaliser with the w*****er signs, is just stupid and juvenile. There is no need for it. If certain groups would like more of the ground to join in the "atmosphere", I would suggest the latter and previous games chorus of "you **** your sister" ain't the way to do it.

I think the previous blanket ban was to do with complaints from our GGL neighbours? If that's the case then it would make sense to only allow it on the park side terrace.
Obviously the people who live there knew they were moving in next to a football ground, but in fairness they were at the time probably moving in next to a non-league football club with much smaller and quieter crowds. It's never a bad idea to maintain cordial relationships with one's neighbours.

I like the drumming. Creates an atmosphere.

Me to, worked well on Monday and actually gave us a bit more of an atmosphere and urged the fans on a bit more, Which I think the players deserve at the moment. I imagine the issue arises when it's on the gander green lane end of the pitch as the stand is quite close to the Houses, but on the park side, it would sound a bit more distant.

Sorry. I haven't got time or inclination to read that Grauniad article. Why then would you have both the time and the inclination to make a whole post just to say you can't be arsed to read something that was posted for anyone who wanted to read it?
