Excellent point. Fantastic effort. Not many will take points off Hartlepool at their place over the remainder of the season I don’t think. Also good minutes into a number of players and if we don’t pick up more problems we should be a lot better for it next week. No mid week game. Hopefully we can return to winning ways at home.

Another hard fought point by the team. Well done to the 75 fans who made the long trip. Our next 2 games are at home. After no win in the last 5 (no complaints by the way) I think we need 2 wins to keep our playoff position.

1.A lot stronger/ better lineup. Good to see players back. 2.A hard fought point against a good team. 3.A game of two half's.we had the first ,they had the second. 4.Today like the past 4/5games we cannot score goals to finnish the game off.we had chances in the first but yet again cannot finnish.

Looking at the game in isolation, a draw at Hartlepool is a decent result (and better than we managed last season). However, if we want to stay in the play offs or do even better, we will need to start converting draws into wins again. There appears to be a fine line between winning and drawing in this league and being a bit more clinical and maybe some slightly better decision making in both last thirds would probably make the difference. Our current front two, Omar and Donovan, haven't scored since the first week of January - although in fairness, they haven't always been regular starters over that period. Of course, we have only lost one of our last 5 games and Bristol Rovers' absolute demolition of Stevenage this afternoon is perhaps indicative of what a good side they have become since bringing in some good new signings during the transfer window. Few teams can dominate an entire game for 90 minutes, but it seems like every game we play we are on the front foot for one half and the opposition is on the front foot during the other half (although I think weather conditions have influenced that in many of our recent matches). Not sure how much this is down to tactics or whether given the high intensity football we play, it's really not possible to stay on the front foot for 90 minutes. No yellow cards for either side today - so credit to both sides and the referee. Credit to Hartlepool also for, like us, reaching the semi finals of the Papa John's Trophy and going a long way towards securing their Football League status for another season after having accompanied us to the Football League from the National League. I know that not all regular users of this board are big fans of Bromley and Boreham Wood - but good to see a couple of the more traditional non-league sides being right in the mix for promotion to the Football League at the end of the season (maybe we have started a trend?) - although as I write this post, Boreham Wood look like they might become the latest side to be brought down to earth by Maidenhead.

Todays Answer is TANTO
He makes all the difference, he would have scored a couple in the last 3 or 4 games.
Otherwise another hard fought away point..

If the answer is TANTO. Can someone please tell me the status of him. Is he injured if so what is his injuries?and how long is he out for. Or has he gone back to Millwall as per an earlier agreement that was to cover the transfer window.( I think that was arrang ed but I of course could be wrong) Or is it Tactics?

Tactics?? Really?? Do you think he was left out deliberately?? You might want to watch a few more Sutton games first.

Thank you for that answer. What I meant about the tactics is. If TANTO is injured which we now know to be.are different tactics being used and if so are they the best ways.

Today's was the archetypal game of two halves: we had the first 45, they had the second.
In the first half, with four changes to the starting line-up since Tuesday, we were a different team from the one at Bristol, playing with energy, pressing the opposition, and taking an early lead from a corner (well done, Joe Kizzi).
In the second half there seemed to be a transfer of energy from away team to home team. Maybe tiredness caught up with our players. Pools will probably feel that their equaliser was merited, and it would be hard to disagree, but did anyone else think that their goal might have been scored from an offside position?
Bristol Rovers' 4-0 win at Stevenage today suggests that we might have got off lightly on Tuesday. 🤒 Scunthorpe meanwhile lost again and remain rooted to the foot of the table. They're our next opponents, at GGL, but nobody should be fooled into assuming that will be an easy three points.
That's now five draws in seven league games. We stay 5th.

Just watched the highlights of yesterday's game. The Hartlepool goal looked onside to me (although it was tight). We certainly missed a couple of gilt-edged chances to add to our score in the first half. We obviously don't know which players in the current squad might be lured away in the Summer. However, after spending at least part of the last three season with us, I would think that it is fairly certain that we will need to do without Tanto's services next season. Will not be an easy job at all to replace him - and particularly difficult to plan for as we obviously don't currently know what league we will be in next season. One thing is for certain - the young man has made an immense contribution to our football team and has forever written his name into Sutton United folklore.

When I first saw their equaliser I though it was an error on our part either by Deao or defence. But looking again it looks like their attacker actually misheaded the ball and it fell fortunately to another of their players who then had space to finish. Dont think we could have done much.
Wilson should have scored. I think perhaps he is lacking a bit of confidence while to Tanto seems to be more confident in those positions. But I do rate Wilson. He has good finishing ability and if he trusted it a bit more and was not so gun shy we would have been 2 up up half time.

I was really pleased that Hartlepool came up as runners up to us last season. They come across as being a really classy football club. It's what I would expect from a club with Jeff Stelling as President. Although there has obviously been a great deal of competitive rivalry between the two clubs in recent seasons, Jeff has always been full of praise for Sutton and what they have achieved on a budget that is miniscule relative to many of their rivals.
