Now 11 games since any Sutton striker scored a goal. We're badly missing Tanto in particular. Does it matter when we win 3-0 and 4-1? No. Back to today. I'm still getting my head round as to what happened at half time to go from a dominant performance to an inept one. Was the wind that significant? Did we get tired? Did someone slip something into Tranmeres half time cuppa? I think we were lucky to get away with a point and if it wasn't for Goodliffe, we probably wouldn't have. I totally understand with the current injury situation that a point is a good one, I just can't understand the differences in the two halves.

Another hard game as was expected. A point each a fair result overall. We missed the second goal in the first half as it could have made things a bit easier. Question. Is David carrying an injury or is he off form? Over the passed few games he has not been at his best. Today he missed at least 2 sitters. Again the ref missed a lot of elbows and arms.yes it's a bodily game but some of it should and could be cut out. Possible more comments from markf. On to Oldham Tuesday hopefully we get a result.

We needed a second goal before half time to kill the game off.

We should have signed Sherpa Tensing in the January transfer window as we now have a bit of a mountain to climb.

Yes, a point each was fair.
With a threadbare squad today, another commendable result.
Still in the promotion/playoff mix. Regardless of whether we make it, what a season…

Fair result. Wind played a big part in determining who dominated each half in my view. This could well be a big point, against a good team. Looking at the remaining fixtures, home and away, a play off place is definitely a realistic proposal, especially as our injured return.. Whatever happens this has truly been an, off the scale, exceptional season from this team. Quite incredible.

In the end a point is probably all we deserved. Our shooting is poor especially David he does not get his head down over ball he’s always leaning backwards and he rounded the keeper and look as if he just had to roll the ball into the net but muffed it because he’s ball control is poor at time.
I am concerned that we aren’t going to get a competitive team out at Wembley- we need Smith Wilson Tanto Randell John and Milsom back and I just can see any of them playing a full 90 mins and only 2 weeks to go. Rotherham will tear us apart.
On another note I see in the programme there were 112 Sutton fans at Swindon - I don’t understand this I counted over 150 fans at least ( I’m that sad) and that doesn’t include all the directors and families that must have been sitting in the posh seats.
The PA system was as poor as usual with Tony D s pre match announcements but in the second half someone else appeared on the Mike and the sound was the best I’ve ever heard it on the terraces opposite the main stand - explain?

I believe that AB assumed microphone duties during the course of this afternoon. Let's just say that he's not renowned for speaking softly. 😏
Yes, this was another archetypal game of two halves. And yes, the wind was a factor. Usually it blows from the south-west, but today it was from the east. That favoured the team attacking the GGL end: us in the first half, them in the second.
Ben Goodliffe gave us the lead via a post, and perhaps we should have had more before half-time. Tranmere's best spell came between the 55th and 70th minutes, during which they won a string of corners (some rather dubiously awarded?) and scored the equaliser. Both sides then missed chances to win the game.
It was great to see Craig Eastmond back, but I thought Adam Lovatt put in another impressive performance alongside him. Not bad for a seventh-choice central midfielder.
A draw wasn't an unfair outcome, and our ship has been steadied after those two away defeats. Port Vale's win means that we slip to 9th, but we're only five points behind 3rd-placed Northampton. Our rearranged trip to Oldham now looks like an important opportunity to get back on track.

It wasn't AB on the mike, but I regret I do not know the name of the man taking over in the box. Though he is the regular stand in for Tony who was doing a match commentary for one of the audio feeds. I have written this before: if you are using a microphone on a PA you have to speak at a speed at which you would make a speech without a mike to a roomful of people. If you gabble at a speed at which you would talk to family across a table, your audience, lacking the assistance of lip-reading, will struggle to follow. It is the same PA system just 2 different men using it.

When I was walking around to la curva before the game I noted how clear Tony sounded over the pa. No more distortion etc. Must have fixed it. Perhaps I was wrong.
Tony has been doing it for nigh on 40 years and don't think his style has been an issue before. It's the pa, it doesn't reach all parts and I couldn't hear the crowd figure announced too well.
The second half announcer was Jason Reynolds. He is very good too.

La curva audibility is terrible and has been for a long time. That speaker on the Goodliffe stand never seems to work. I went into the park side covered terracing in the second half and could hear everything.

I thought it was AB on the mike!! Good to see some one has fixed the broken cables and the sprinklers were working again.

In the days leading up to this game with our ever growing injury list I feared the worst. That of course eased with Eastmond and Deano back in the squad. For me as a supporter sometimes a draw can feel like a win, a victory over adversity with our injuries list. This is how I felt yesterday.

One question to the singers who were in the Rec stand in the 2nd half - how is the voice of the young lad/lads who were the lead for the 15 mins ‘U Army’ chant?! Great effort, but don’t wear your voice out before Wembley!!! 👍
