Thought it might be useful to start a thread on getting the best out of the day: Travel and Eats and drinks etc.
Any info people have or any hints and tips?
Wembley area has changed a lot recently - any recommends for grub or pub? Heard of any Tube / Train engineering works we need to be aware of?
I'll start us off:
April 3 Southern Rail Planned Engineering Works. No trains Dorking / Sutton.

I've spoken to our liaison officer at the Met and am just waiting for him to come back to me about designated pubs etc.

Rather than using the Metropolitan or Jubilee line to Wembley Park the service from Marylebone - 1 stop to Wembley Stadium is a good option.
If you live outside the M25 and are travelling by car but want to avoid the traffic jams when going home: Take the M40 into London and park in Halford Rd or The Chase, just north of Hillingdon Station. Look this up on a map to see the slip road off the A40. Take the Metropolitan line from Hillingdon to Wembley Park. Going home you will be travelling north on the Tube for which there are no crowd control measures.

As Jared pointed out to me, although this is a great option (and actually brings you closer to our end of the ground), if one chooses this route it means you don't walk up Wembley way, which to some is nearly as important as getting to Wembley itself

I know it’s commercial but the Wembley BoxPark is very nearby with a similar set up to the Croydon one - some excellent food units but very different from some traditional pubs which I’m guessing a fair few of you will be looking to investigate.

Confirmed details to follow, but essentially we have the pubs on the eastern side of the stadium

Pubs near Wembley or at Baker St.? I haven't been to Wembley for a less-than-full stadium event, but eating and drinking locally when it is a capacity crowd wasn't great. There is an interesting (for the decor) Wetherspoons at Baker Street, 7 Station Approach, called the Metropolitan Bar. I found it easier to get a seat to eat there. Trains start right next door.

What other train routes are people using? I've tried various sites and they suggest things like Elephant and Castle and Queens Park.
Does anyone know if the Bakerloo line is working on Sunday? It would seem the easiest but I'm not being given that option.

Morden-Stockwell-Green Park-Baker St-Wembley I tend to go from Baker Street On the Metropoliton rather than Jubilee (2 stops compared to the stopper), Wembley Park is the Station if you want the 'Wembley Way experience'. Plenty of Pubs in this area as well.
Have got the overground from MArylebone but as someone has mentioned that isnt running.
Loads of options to get to Baker Street. All about the same time and a bit bitty. Worth noting Victoria line will still be recovering from a Saturday night strike so might be some delays. Victoria>Green Park>Baker Street>Wembley
Should say this is all if you fancy food/drink in the Baker Street area

Surely London Bridge to Wembley Park is the best option? Certainly will be the one I take.

If you're going from London on the Jubilee Line and want a quick and easy change, stay on it until Finchley Road and change on to the Metropolitan Line there. Platforms are adjacent. Metropolitan Line is then next stop Wembley Park, rather than calling at all the intermediate stations on the Jubilee Line.

Ah thank you. I will be on a Southeastern train to London Bridge before a change to the Underground.

Marylebone-Wembley Stadium is operating on Sunday, a nine minute trip.
