"Sutton may not be getting the rub of the green, but the fact they have only collected three yellow cards after 17 league games (five less than at the same stage last season) suggests more could be done in terms of the dark arts as well as ‘tactical fouls’ to see games out." We have 32 yellow cards and 2 red cards in those 17 league games. After 17 league games last year I think it was 22 yellows and 1 red. Ahh! My bad, I subbed incorrectly. I was focusing on the teams bookings after the 80th minute - as it reads I’m wrong. Thank you for plucking that one out Tim.

He really is, isn't he? Reading that (very nice article by the way) made me realise we were so busy in 2021 dealing with COVID and winning the league that we neglected to give Bruce the recognition he fully deserves for achieving 25 years in post as chairman.

Games come think and fast, as do seasons and we sometimes fail to take stock of what has been achieved and by who. This is a great piece to put in some context and just stand back and recognise the achievements.

Plenty of optimism there! It's perhaps worth adding that the February fixtures will be an interesting test for Matt's reshaped squad, as they include two home games against top-six sides (Stevenage, Swindon) and two away games against bottom-six sides (Hartlepool, Newport). If we are to make a push for the play-offs, we probably need to be picking up wins from some of those matches.

I would be surprised if Stevenage do not finish top with the prowess and talent they have acquired, saying that, Matt makes his eleven hard to beat and having a wide variety to use off the bench will only make it more difficult for teams to prepare for Sutton. The bottom of the table has really livened up (thanks to Col U and Gills) so there is no room for error across all teams. A tough month for sure…

Hey guys! A different type of article this week… I dipped into the Sutton hall of fame and was mesmerised by the significant story of Charlie Vaughan, teaching myself about his time at the club I also learnt a bit more about him with the help of life-long fan John Lowe. A very kind person who’s helped me understand more about this amazing football club. I would like to Thank John and his family members Paul and Mark for their help too! Let me know what you think… t.co/yM4kdBGKAQ

Nice article. The next three people to join Charlie in our Hall of Fame will be inducted on the pitch just before the game v Crewe.
