Certainly a sobering piece to read but nice to see the underlying theme and must agree that in the long term Sutton will evolve into a financial stable entity.

Good evening all, LondonFootballScene put together a piece based on football finances - looking into the teams we cover. There’s a section on the U’s in there where I dedicate a few words, let me know if you agree or disagree - was improving the stadium one of the most important items on the financial ‘to do list’? It was! To our credit it's the away fans who now have the best facilities in the stadium.

Disagreeing or agreeing is irrelevant.
If the club wanted to remain in the EFL, it had no choice.

In the same way we have to provide more seats even though the stand is rarely full.

Evening folks, I have another article up on London Football Scene and this one is an exclusive! I had a catch up with Matt and he opens up about the start to the campaign and what went wrong. Hope everyone is well and ready for Horsham! You can read it here… t.co/dgFPI3ZCti

Thanks Will, a good article. It has obviously taken longer than Matt expected, or hoped, to get almost a full squad of new players - strangers to each other - to look like a team. As all managers find out: some transfers in do not work. Personalities come into it and in a new team some players will fail to perform as well as in their previous team with different colleagues. Though injuries continue to plague Sutton's defenders so it is almost a different back line every match, despite that we have stopped conceding lots of goals in league matches. I think one injury forced the key change. Up front we now have an alternative to the long ball to Smith's head, which we need. Survival will depend on two of our relegation rivals not turning things around, but I am optimistic for Sutton following their November run.

Evening U’s,
I have another piece up on LFS and it’s my first of the Steve Morison chapter!
If you didn’t know he was a terrific striker in his playing days and became a cult-hero at Millwall but I look into what he can bring to Gander Green Lane as a manager. I am confident that he will steer the club clear of the drop and build on an impressive start to the transfer window.
You can read the article here…https://londonfootballscene.co.uk/2024/01/25/steve-morison-the-hardened-former-millwall-player-is-the-perfect-fit-for-sutton-united/

I'm disappointed and disgusted that Lucy received so much abuse on her appointment by virtue of simply being different from the perceived norm. At the same time, I'm immensely proud of the club for supporting her.
