Or even losing !!! I was there 63 & 69. Best match for me was watching in the stand seeing us play Wimbledon.Eddie Reynolds scoring 4 goals with his head against a concussed centre half. Terry Price ? Were we 2-0 down and Micky Mellows popped up with 2 goals to draw level. Still a wonderful occasion. In the corner on the terrace against North Shields but i have little recollection of the match.

In 1969,being a 14 year old, it was, I think, my first ever visit to Wembley, was sad to see us lose after being ahead, I have, somewhere, a dvd of the game ( purchased from North Shields a few years back ).....I can remember that Brian Joicey played for them, who went on to play for Coventry City, Sheffield Wednesday and Barnsley !
The 1981 Final was one of the most boring finals anyone can probably remember, with the goal in the 89th minute being the only excitement .........Not for Sutton United sadly

I echo Rambo's comments being only 12 at the time in 69. I do seem to remember that either the equaliser or their winner was particularly galling as (as I now only vaguely recall) it was a header from almost the edge of the penalty area. Is this correct or I am mistaken?

I remember being at the 81 Final although little of the actual match. I recall that more or less the entire 22,000 crowd were seated along the Royal Box side of the stadium with terraces behind each goal and the opposite side empty. I also remember the feeling of disappointment when that last minute goal went in (largely because it was scored at our end)!
