I saw somewhere on the website (not the preview) that we'd be in green

Funny ground, Field Mill. Quite large, impressive main stand and two very good sized all seater stands behind both goals. The fourth side, where the cameras are so you never see it, is totally out of bounds. The old stand straddling the halfway line hasn’t been used in donkeys years but has never been replaced, just boarded up, and the terracing either side has been removed. Effectively a three-sided ground.

Huge game for us. A win would leave us just 2 points adrift from Mansfield and with a fantastic chance of making the play offs bearing in mind the 3 home games we would still have to play.No wonder Mansfield have made this all ticket . Looks like we have a good available squad for the run in. Safe travels for everyone going up there. Only the live stream for me with one eye on all the other games going on.

Indeed optimistically a win would change the complexion of this run in completely. It’s a tough ask given Mansfield’s home form but you just never know, especially with this group. Other than potentially play offs it’s our last chance to put in an away performance/result at one of the better sides. Our away record at the challengers hasn’t been spectacular but we came home with 3 points from Tranmere and Northampton, and I think Bristol Rovers, Swindon and Vale played us at good to very good times (for them), Newport could have been much different. We’ll have to start infinitely better than the Vale match but I think we should be in better order now a few important players have got minutes. Everything crossed, hope we can set up an exciting end to the season.

Effectively a three-sided ground. On my one previous visit to Field Mill, for a dire 0-0 v Grays Athletic in the Conference, the biggest cheer of the game came when the ball was hoofed onto the roof of the disused terrace then dropped through a hole and bounced on the empty terracing below. I don't know whether that hole has been repaired. 🙄

Slightly tangental but what on earth is going on with Forest Green today? Exeter must really be fancying their chances of top spot.

Excellent win! Screw the last minute goal. Hauls us up a few places, puts a marker down. Well done, boys!

Well well well. Result of the season for me. Fantastic. Had a little feeling we might upset the bookies today. Sets Monday up nicely.

Fantastic win and by my calculations we need 8 points from the last 5 games for a play off place.

I'm gutted!! Due to unforseen circumstances last evening I was unable to go up to Mansfield today. Having read early reports I think I have missed one of the best games this season. Well done to the management and squad for today's result. Now looking to Monday and Newport.
