I'm in drinking in Carshalton so not yet ready to leap into Sutton Utd celebration songs, maybe a bit later. Gutted to miss Mondays game due to an unavoidable commitment. I'm gutted!! Due to unforseen circumstances last evening I was unable to go up to Mansfield today. Having read early reports I think I have missed one of the best games this season. Well done to the management and squad for today's result. Now looking to Monday and Newport.

The most complete Sutton performance I've seen this season. Every single player was on form and we were treated to 3 Sutton goals which would have graced any level of football. No2 was probably my favourite as it was a real team goal, I think 5 or 6 players played their part. And we kept up that level for virtually the entire 90.
Mansfield were lucky to get 2. I mean, we even had to score one for them.
We play anywhere close to that for our 5 remaining games and we will go into the play offs as the form side and with every chance of getting the prize.
MoM for me. Tough to call with so many fantastic performances, but if I had to it would be Rob Milsom. Peerless today

We were absolutely superb today. Difficult pick for MOM but I’d give it to Harry. Thought he was outstanding

Great result against a team who hadn’t lost in eleven games at home. Every player put a shift in and all three goals were great. as Andy k has said play like that and we should not fear any one challenging for the play off’s , so well done lads and now on too Monday. UP THE US⚽️⚽️⚽️

This was a match that we were expected to lose. We won. And the two goals that Mansfield scored had elements of fortune about them. This was a massive result that puts us right back in the thick of the promotion race.
Well done to every Sutton player today. You've given us a huge lift. Just don't let that slip on Monday!

Great three points. Hard to pick MOTM today. Good goals, even our gifted first goal was good composure from Omar. Fans were good today as well.
The lads put a shift in today so hopefully they rest up ok for Monday.

Disappointing comments from Mansfield supporters tonight regarding their perception of our time wasting. They need to look firstly at their goalkeeper's antics regarding placing the ball outside the six yard box for goal kicks despite being penalized for it several times. secondly at their idiot player who, at two nil down, deliberately threw the ball into an unmanned section of terracing necessitating a tricky retrieval from the ball boy, and thirdly, on the subject of ball boys, at least three were stroppy little herberts who, on numerous occasions went out of their way to ensure that returned balls did not reach the Sutton players who were best placed for it. Again regarding ball boys, are there any regulations regarding harbouring water bottles for home players to take a drink from at throw ins? There were two doing that too.

Am I correct in thinking this was the first match this season two recognised Sutton strikers have scored in a game?

We were no where near as bad as some other teams we have faced this year. Allot of it came from their own ball boys not giving us the ball so we did not rush to go get it ourselves. One of their players even had a go at one of their ball boys for not getting the ball. And with 3m injury at half time and 6m at full time, Im not sure what they have to complain about. Thought the reff was ok, not the best but not the worse.

A train journey up from the south coast that went to plan there and back (just!) and three points at the fortress that has (had) become the One Call Stadium; a Good Friday indeed.
Perhaps, playing Mansfield with their missing three influential players helped but this was a derserved victory and I think the one goal margin of the win flattered the hosts. They have some good footballers but they just didn't get to grips with U's who played as well without the ball as they did as with. While the first gaol was presented to Omar B he still had to finish and he did that well. U's second was the culmination of a passing move that swung from right to left and then right again, David A volleying in from Enzio B's well judged cross. And the third a winning challenge in midfield, a fine pass to the left and a really smart finish bt Richie B.
Of course their two goals came via an unfortunate back header and a deflected shot. The first gave Mansfield some hope as they looked down and out but that quick response from U's killed them.
A great performance from all concerned and a win that keeps U's well in the hunt for a play-off place. Long way to go though.
Reading the Mansfield forum is as entertaining as it was to listen to the crowd moan. Time wasting? Who started it? Their 'keeper, who was clocked by the ref early on and added to by his inability to work out where a white line was. Embarrassing for him tbh. Apparently we conned the ref a few times too although we didn't get a player booked for simulation. While Tanto's step across Quinn was unwise there was not enough (indeed if any) contact for him to go down like he did. It was the ref's best moment. We have had this guy many times in the past and he hasn't always impressed and he didn't yesterday either. Both sides can have complaint and his reluctance not to book for fouls while possibly refreshing, was unusual in the modern era. He didn't have any effect on the result though and Clough, who spent a lot of the time in the 4th official's ear during, gave a decent interview afterwards. No lambasting the ref and more about his team.
A great start to Easter for U's and another tough match to come on Monday.

While the first gaol was presented to Omar B he still had to finish and he did that well. I wouldn’t say it was presented, rather snatched or pick pocketed brilliantly - fantastic pressure by Omar and a deserved prize.
