Preparations have already started. What a great servant Kenny Davis has been to this club.

Agreed Kenny has been a class act for us. Am sure he’ll get a good club. Best wishes to him. We were lucky to have him and I’m happy he won a NL title and got a deserved league season under his belt.
Ricky obviously had limited chances as Matt days so not unexpected and hopefully he can get some good game time next season. Good luck to him.
Nelson a short term solution which I’m sure he understood when signing up, thanks and good luck also.

Gutted for Kenny in particular. Been amazing for us and a very important part of the squad. I wish him nothing but the best.

That's the risk though. If anyone gets a too-good-to-refuse offer, either for the club or the player, then we don't know exactly what we need at this time.

Incidentally I looked at the site before seeing these posts and never noticed it there. The site really is a mess as far as I'm concerned and I know it's not controlled by the club - unfortuately.

All the successful new signings last summer were from non-league, i. e. Bennett, Smith and Kizzi. I know Bennett had played for a couple of league clubs previously, but not sure the other two had. Basically Sutton were an upgrade on where they’d been previously, and they all delivered.
Can the same be repeated this summer? I’m assuming the club will be wanting to sign players that are better than what they’ve got/had, but that’s easier said than done. Would players released by L2, L1 or even, possibly, Championship clubs see a move to Sutton as a positive? Take into consideration the club’s existing facilities and things like the cost of housing etc in this area and I think, perhaps not.
Should the club target top-end non-league again instead?
I’m guessing the club will have weighed up all of these factors and will have a plan as well as a budget.

Some good questions posed here Terrier, I’d like to think we can repeat the trick this summer, recruitment is one of Matt Grays strengths after all as we’ve seen over the past couple of seasons!
Yes we may have to brace ourselves for bids on star assets but we’re a club on the up and players will want to come and play for us! In addition to some new signings I would also like to see us promote from within - Adam Lovatt who made a couple of appearances in March did himself no harm in central midfield, Kylian Kouassi has the attributes at a young age to come into reckoning next season I think and I’d like to see Mutale and Tanner get minutes through pre-season - both have been stand-outs for the academy team this season.

Question of the day. If another club comes in for any of our "stars" ( God forbid ) What valuation would you put on them??

I think we have a reputation of being fair to our players. If a higher league club comes in for one of our players we don't usually stand in their way.
I'm sure lots of clubs covet some of them. I'm not really familiar with fees and they often reflect lengths of contract remaining.

We should all be aware that some Sutton players are out of contract this summer and may choose to move elsewhere, particularly if another club offers more money than Sutton can afford.
Of course if a player is under contract then he would only move if a transfer fee is agreed.
Matt said at last year's 'meet the manager' evening that he maintains a detailed list of players whom he might wish to sign should replacements be needed for any of his current squad. I imagine most of those are at non-League clubs but have the potential to step up to League football.

He's gone through the ranks where he started starting in park football and making it to being a league player, rather than the majority of players who started at a league club as a youth and dropped down initially. It's rather a romantic story which in modern football is a real rarity.
