I think we know that there is only one player who played to a consistenly high standard week in week out last season, and is arguably too good for L2. This is why he swept the board in the awards at the end of the season.

We had all of this speculation last season and in January. If David played as well as he did at Newport every week he would start every game in the championship but he doesn’t. There aren’t many players at championship level who score the goals he scored at Newport week on week out (oddly his 2nd isn’t in the goal of the season line up despite be better than several in it). Simply they don’t exist or move very quickly to PL. He doesn’t need to do that every game to go up a division or 2. In matches of fine margins if he can make a difference every other or 1 in 3 games he’s worth looking at. He can also have a bench impact and potentially be looked after more than we have been able to in a bigger/higher quality squad. The amount of minutes he got through this season was incredible given the running he does, a lot at top speed. He could potentially look even better or deliver more in a higher quality side that can get him 1 v 1 more often. At Sutton opposition can often double or even triple up on him. January always a difficult time to buy players and we may have been unwilling to do in season. Time will tell but if he is still a Sutton player come September I will be gobsmacked.

Just watched the goal of the season in which DA features, must have added a few noughts to his value. The problems mentioned by several, I am sure have been worked on by the Sutton management team.

I don't disagree with a lot of what you say, but there were many games where he was totally anonymous. Quite possibly, pound for pound, he's possibly our most talented and gifted player. But showing that talent for a minority of games in a season could be the difference between him progressing his career or not. Personally I think that even 1 in 3 games is being generous, and one could argue that Will Randall has a better hit rate than that and yet isn't mentioned in anywhere like similar terms. He could well end up being a decent squad player at a higher level, but I'm not too sure that he's ready for week in week out football at that level. Remember 2 of his best performances this season (and certainly in both of those he was wonderful) ended up in defeat (Newport and Rotherham). Whilst football is a team game, the cold facts are that regardless of how well he played (and we certainly did in both of those, with the former oddly enough being one of my favourite games of the season), he didn't make a difference to the result in either game.

He was instrumental in a lot of our open play chances and goals. Also just by being on the field he creates space elsewhere with the attention he attracts. The goal of the season compilation heavily involves him in several.
I would agree Will Randall may also attract attention though Ajiboye has a far better fitness record (or seems to me he does!). I would think a few could have the qualities that other sides will like. Main flight risks to me are Bouzanis, Kizzi, Goodliffe, John, Randall, Smith, Ajiboye, Bugiel. But not many would overly surprise me given budget wise we must be one of the lower ones around at our level.

Of Gareth's list of players. Who are still in contact? It's quite an impressive list. We don't want to loss to many of them!!

Let's not even go there. Better to concentrate on who we can bring in.

What's the latest on Isaac? Isaac’s gone back to Millwall Dave - loan is up. I get that but will they want to keep him? He could be released soon or available because they've got by without him, narrowly missing the play-offs.

Why is anyone speculating about which players we are likely to lose?
Seems all a bit negative to me.

We don’t know that as far as I’m aware. Hopefully wherever he ends up he gets an injury free season and kicks on.
