Anyone know also when the SSC game at Merstham is likely to be? Monday, 14 November according to Merstham programme a week ago.

Not Pompey they finished 3rd Portsmouth play their final group match v AFC Wimbledon on 1st Nov. If they win, they top the group. My mistake I thought the leagues were all complete !

The last game in the Southern section is Charlton v Brighton on 2nd November, although the outcome of that result won't affect who wins that group, already topped by Colchester.

As an aside to last night’s morale boosting 2nd clean sheet win, it was nice to see Dundo playing and contributing to the game, plus the fact how many teams can say they can field a 41 year old player, shades of Stanley Matthews so Dundo’s still got at least 9 years left to thrill us on the pitch 🤣🥳👍

Means it's now one of Ipswich, FGR, Plymouth, Stevenage, MK Dons, AFC or Pompey, Colchester in the next round. I expect the draw pretty soon as the matches are in 4 weeks time, but no idea when. I believe last season they took place on a Saturday afternoon on Sky. Last year they split the southern and northern round two draws into 2 subsets of eight teams. Four that would be drawn at home and four drawn away. If they do the same this year, we will only have the possibility of being drawn against four of those above teams. I have no idea how they subset apart from the fact that each team would not meet a team that they played in the round 1 group games.

The club's official report of last night's game states that we'll be away to either MK Dons, Stevenage, Colchester or one of AFC Wimbledon and Portsmouth. We beat four of those five in last season's competition.

Last season the winners of groups A, B,C and D went in with the runners-up from E,F,G and H, and vice versa, so that's what I've based the above on.

If Chelsea U21s hadn’t got that late winner we would have been at home to Gillingham, Cheltenham, Peterborough or AFC Wimbledon/Crawley/Portsmouth. Would have fancied us against any of those.

I hope we don't have to go to Stevenage again.

If this season is going to mirror last season ( I. E a reverse image) - we need to finish runners up in the group - tick - be away in all the rounds up to the semis - we will certainly be away in the next round - and meet the top two teams in the semis and Final from League one - Plymouth and Ipswich - but be at home in the semi and then beating the other - equalising in the 6 th minute of added time - going on to winning in extra time at Wembley ( oh and sneaking into the playoffs on the last day of the season when results on the day go our way.... but this being Sutton we will ultimately be dismal in the playoffs and fail to get promotion.

There are the final 3 group games being played either tonight or tomorrow night. I presume the draw will be soon then. Does anyone know when the draw is?

Not quite right sufc1898 .....there were 4 games outstanding...2 of those games were played tonight......Pompey drew 1-1 with AFC, then won the penalty shoot out 3-1 ...............Crewe drew 0-0 with Leeds Utd U21's, then won the penalty shoot out 2-1.........There's one game tomorrow night when Charlton are home to Brighton's U21's..........then, next Tuesday, Grimsby are home to Man City's U'21's in the last of the group matches. As was posted earlier in this thread, last year's knockout draw was announced on the 13th November, so it should be around that date

What that result last night means that we now cannot face Portsmouth in the 2nd round - we will be away to one of Stevenage, Northampton, MK Dons or AFC Wimbledon.

Not sure that’s quite right. Northampton finished bottom of their group, I think? Don’t we simply play one of the group winners of other 7 southern groups??
