Bloody hell it's so quiet on this link that I am starting to dread how we played Surely we have not carried on from where we left off from last season! Looking at the other results we could be in this league for quite a while. Is there anybody out there!!

Don't panic Mr Jencor! The second half was like the Alamo, as U's launched wave after wave of attacks, but somehow Harlow held out. It looked as though we had won it, when McCallum broke through, but his shot hit the post and bounced across the goal into the keepers arms. Almost immediately, a long ball beat the U's defence and the Harlow forward lobbed Nicholls, but the ball went about a foot wide of the goal. Once the defence is settled and knows how to play as a unit, we are going to do well, as going forward we look very strong - just need to put the chances away though! For me the only bad bit was we picked up 3 (or 4?) yellow cards. Terrific atmosphere with both sets of fans setting up a good noise. Bring on Ramsgate.

I was very impressed with the side today.Strong, committed, talented. I agree with Tony, our defense will need to improve. However I'm very optimistic, I think we will challenge for the top spot this season

I watched the game from the stands and I have to say that the atmosphere from both sets of fans over the other side was superb. I thought we looked very decent today, ground them down in the first half and then opened up in the 2nd half, I like the strength we seem to possess to do that. I thought that although we missed Wilde's ability it seemed to help shore us up as we were a bit narrower in midfield and that meant we had more of a grip on it. I thought our goal was brilliant, a magnificent clever ball from Davis and brilliant finish from Mcallum, shame he couldnt put some easier ones away. We have to take positives out of it, a point away is a reasonable start, we looked like a strong competative side and I fancy us to do well this season. Still didnt pass the ball through midfield enough but looked lively going forward. Well done lads, no need for negatives today, roll on to Tuesday now...

I enjoyed today' s match, one we should have won but, equally, could have had stolen away from us. Was pleased to see the drive and commitment of the team - we have clearly signed some quality players. One hopes that the more they play together, the better the performances will become. Here's hoping.

Despite taking 2hrs to get there, missing both goals and entering one of the most soulless football grounds I have ever seen, I thought we were by far the better side. Tactically Dos was spot on and had them well and truly on the ropes in the second 45 creating chance after chance. It was a very frustrating match to watch, if it were a boxing match the ref would of stopped the contest. Having said that we could of lost, the handball for the pen was just plain daft and we so nearly paid the price for that defensive slip at the end. Considering the back four have not played together before I can forgive them that.
If Harlow don't struggle this season then we will bounce straight back or go very close, Ramsgate and Hendon should provide us with stronger tests?

Frustrating afternoon. OK, they missed apen but their 'keeper was far the busier & made some great saves including the last minute effort from the lively McCallum, which he tipped onto the post.
We should have had a 2nd min pen as CD as fouled but to his credit managed to stay on his feet. Ref, was very picky & doesn't know the laws of the game. Gave a direct free-kick after making a nonsensical back-pass decision.
The match was fast & furious with players having little time on the ball - is this how the Ryman League is?
Personally, I would have pushed Craig D into the middle for Heeroo, who, if not careful, is gonna end up getting a red card before long. Taz colud have then played on the left. As someone said above, we lacked width.
Thought our MoM was Dean Palmer, although I would have given their keeper the honours for a splendid display. He was an alright bloke too.
Still, far more entertaining than 90% of the fare we saw last season. But, we will need to improve. Hopefully when we get Wilde, Chukki & Bray back we will.
One thing that hasn't changed from last season was our ability to pick up bookings. 4 in all, although Kes' was a joke.

Not the prettiest of games, and littered with free-kicks, but I agree there was a lively atmosphere at the ground.
I thought the first half was pretty even and 1-1 was a fair half-time score. We then had most of the play in the second half, although Harlow sometimes looked dangerous on the break. We created plenty of chances but most of our shots were high or wide. The game could have swung either way in the final few minutes.
We hardly looked title favourites today, but given that the players are still getting to know each other (two were making their debuts) I thought we did reasonably well. There were enough glimpses of quality to suggest we can shift up a level.

TBH, a point on the first day away can't be bad. Especially missing the likes of Wilde.
They were'nt a bad side at all. Got at us early and had the lead, but once we levelled seemed to retreat a bit and sat back a lot 2nd half when we really should have made 'em pay.
First 45, we looked a bit disjointed, but managed to nick one from probably our best bit of play in the half. MaCallum looks a good addition. Second 45, game was there for the taking. But we couldn't quite manage that winner. Thought Gav had nicked it right at the death.
It'll do. Still 41 games to go.
As for that lot down the road, being above us after ONE game means SO much to them. Which would explain the big clubhouse full song we got over the phone this evening. Not that we understood a f*cking word that they said.
Still they are after all the professional club who have the elite arm called 'The GAS FC'
F*cking losers.

I think two of the most concerning things from today were: 1. That our 'keeper seems to be wearing a golf jumper. and 2. The small group of US Secret Service agents that appear to be supporting us. And Photos are now up on Ftl and Flickr

Surely these are the MIB? If they do that flashy thing, will it make me forget last season?

Nothing will make you forget last season. I'll take a point from the opener tbh. Can't help but wonder what would be said had we lost!
