Shame I was looking forward to that. Presumably it’s drier over the Rec!

I saw the women’s development team win 2-1 (coming back from 0-1) over Collingwood Rec today on a heavy but perfectly playable pitch.
I was surprised that the main pitch was (ahem) “waterlogged”, presumably in worse condition, and that the first team couldn’t play.
Let’s hope it dries out for Saturday week!!!! I had a quick look and it looked ok, no sign of Kevin Costner in Waterworld gliding across it.

The club spent north of 500k on that pitch.
If you had spent that sort of dosh on something, wouldn't you want to look after it?

Yes I would want to protect it of course. My surprise was that the game was postponed because the pitch was “waterlogged” when the one over the Rec quite clearly wasn’t.
Anyway, the women are due to play at home again this Sunday so fingers crossed the pitch will be fit enough for that.

"Waterlogged " being a euphemism for "you can rip up the Collingwood Rec surface but not the main pitch".
In other words we are protecting our investment.
